This permanent hybrid role will help enable product development, analytics and business transformation by ensuring data is consistent, secure, scalable and fit for purpose across the organisation. The role requires attendance at the Worcester offices for a minimum of two days per week.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDefine enterprise data architecture principles, standards and strategic roadmaps\nDesign and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models\nGuide the effective use of data platforms, including data lakes, data visualisation tools and integration services\nEnable high-quality data for client-facing products, reporting, artificial intelligence, machine learning and operational activities\nCo-author data governance practices covering metadata, data quality, lineage, privacy and compliance within Databricks Unity Catalog\nReview solution designs to ensure architectural alignment, reduce risk, eliminate duplication and maximise reusability at an efficient scale\nEstablish appropriate guardrails for the migration of customer data between legacy and modern cloud platforms, while evaluating emerging technologies and reducing technical debt\nMentor and provide technical direction to data and engineering teams\nJob Requirements:\nStrong understanding of enterprise data architecture patterns and integration approaches, including batch, streaming, event-driven, medallion and big data architectures\nAdvanced data modelling expertise, with the ability to apply industry reference models where appropriate\nStrong experience with Databricks and an understanding of Azure cloud data platforms\nExperience supporting or managing long-term data migration projects between bespoke or legacy systems\nKnowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, lineage, privacy and compliance\nExcellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills\nAbility to assess emerging technologies and make informed architectural recommendations\nExperience within the insurance industry would be advantageous but is not essential\nBenefits:\nCompany pension scheme\nBonus opportunity\nLife assurance and critical illness cover\nCycle to work scheme\nAccess to a platform offering a wide range of discounts and benefits\nGenerous annual leave entitlement, increasing with service, with a holiday purchase scheme\nFlexible start, finish and lunchtime arrangements\nWellbeing support, including an employee assistance programme and mental health first aiders\nOur Client's Values:\nOur client is committed to being a technology partner and employer of choice within the UK general insurance market.
