Working across multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will help define future electrical architectures, influence technology strategy and support the delivery of innovative solutions for highly complex engineering platforms.\nThis role would suit individuals with experience integrating:\nElectrical machines and drives\nPower electronics systems\nAC-DC, DC-DC and AC-AC conversion technologies\nPower generation and distribution systems\nHigh-voltage electrical networks\nGrid-connected and distributed power architectures\nElectrified propulsion or energy management systems\nKey Responsibilities\nElectrical Systems Development\nDevelop and evaluate innovative electrical power generation, conversion and distribution solutions.\nDefine system architectures, performance requirements and technical specifications.\nSupport concept studies, modelling, simulation, prototype development and technology demonstrations.\nAssess system performance and integration across wider platform architectures.\nSystems Engineering\nCapture and manage requirements for complex electrical systems.\nProduce detailed technical documentation, specifications and engineering reports.\nSupport verification, validation and qualification activities.\nContribute to system-level architecture decisions and trade studies.\nTechnical Leadership\nProvide technical guidance to engineering teams and stakeholders.\nLead technical problem-solving activities across complex projects.\nSupport the development of engineering best practice, standards and processes.\nMentor and coach junior engineers where required.\nStakeholder & Partner Collaboration\nWork closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, research partners and external stakeholders.\nSupport technology roadmaps and future capability development.\nHelp define future supply-chain capabilities for key electrical technologies.\nWhat We're Looking For\nEssential Experience\nDegree-qualified engineer (BEng, MEng or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.\nExperience developing and integrating complex electrical power systems within a highly regulated engineering environment.\nStrong understanding of electrical power generation, conversion and distribution architectures.\nExperience producing technical requirements, specifications and engineering documentation.\nKnowledge of power electronics and high-power electrical equipment integration.\nAbility to assess electrical system performance at platform level and understand impacts on adjacent systems.\nExperience working across the full engineering lifecycle, from concept through to validation.\nDesirable Experience\nAerospace, defence, marine, rail, automotive or other safety-critical industry background.\nExperience with:Electrical Load Analysis (ELA)\nFault Tree Analysis (FTA)\nReliability and safety assessments\nFailure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA/DFMEA)\nHAZOP or similar methodologies\n\nUnderstanding of systems engineering standards and processes, including ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 or similar frameworks.\nExperience using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools.\nExposure to electrified propulsion, energy systems or advanced power distribution networks.\nWhy Apply?\nWork on cutting-edge electrification and power technology programmes.\nInfluence the development of future high-power engineering platforms.\nJoin a team delivering innovative solutions in a complex, safety-critical environment.\nHybrid working with flexibility across multiple UK locations.\nExcellent long-term career development opportunities.\nCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.\nOpportunity to obtain or maintain security clearance sponsorship where required.\nSecurity Requirements\nDue to the nature of the projects involved, applicants must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance.
