We're looking for a hands-on Workshop Technician to join a growing manufacturing team, playing a key role in producing high-quality mechanical components and supporting exciting engineering projects from concept through to delivery.\nThe Role\nAs a Workshop Technician, you'll be responsible for manufacturing precision-engineered components using a combination of CNC and conventional machine tools. Working closely with engineers and designers, you'll contribute to the production, assembly and testing of advanced mechanical systems whilst maintaining exceptional standards of quality and workmanship.\nKey Responsibilities\nProgram, set and operate CNC machine tools to manufacture components to specification\nUse conventional machining equipment where required\nInterpret engineering drawings, CAD models and technical documentation\nManufacture bespoke and low-volume precision components\nSupport assembly, integration and testing activities within the workshop\nConduct inspections using appropriate measuring equipment and techniques\nIdentify manufacturing challenges and contribute practical engineering solutions\nMaintain accurate manufacturing and inspection records\nEnsure work is completed safely, efficiently and to agreed quality standards\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop\nProvide guidance and knowledge-sharing support to apprentices and junior team members\nFollow all Health & Safety and Quality procedures\nAbout You\nYou'll be a practical, hands-on engineer with a passion for precision manufacturing and producing high-quality work.\nEssential Skills & Experience\nPrevious experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment\nExperience operating CNC and conventional machine tools\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings\nStrong understanding of machining principles and manufacturing processes\nExperience inspecting components using standard measuring equipment\nExcellent attention to detail and commitment to quality\nStrong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nDesirable\nCNC Milling, Turning and/or Manual Grinding experience\nKnowledge of Mazatrol, Siemens or Heidenhain controls\nExperience with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or FeatureCAM\nHNC, HND, Degree or equivalent Engineering
