They are seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide technical support across the UK and international locations, with regular travel to customer sites and vessels.\nKey Responsibilities:\nInstall, commission and maintain radar, navigation and electronic systems.\nCarry out fault-finding, troubleshooting, electronics testing and acceptance tests.\nTravel regularly to UK and overseas customer locations, sometimes at short notice.\nProvide technical support on naval vessels, commercial vessels and shore-based systems.\nDeliver customer training as appropriate and support the resolution of technical issues.\nPrepare detailed service reports, expense submissions and technical advice documentation.\nCommunicate field-based technical information effectively to line management and internal support teams.\nSupport the customer services helpdesk when office-based and comply with all health and safety requirements.\nJob Requirements:\nExperience in a field service engineering environment, ideally within the marine, maritime, defence or electronics sectors.\nPractical knowledge of navigation, radar, electronics testing, installation and fault-finding.\nAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and documentation.\nUnderstanding of computer hardware, software applications and basic networking.\nSelf-motivated approach with strong problem-solving and customer service skills.\nFull driving licence and valid passport.\nONC or equivalent engineering qualification is desirable but not essential.\nWillingness and ability to travel extensively within the UK and overseas.\nSecurity and Compliance:\nDue to the nature of the defence and maritime work, the successful applicant will be required to complete formal security vetting, including Ministry of Defence screening. This process may require information relating to previous employment, residential history and other relevant background details. Any gaps in employment history will need to be explained as part of the vetting process, and the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to carry tools and equipment weighing up to approximately 10 kilograms.\nAbility to walk moderate distances while carrying equipment.\nAbility to climb stairs, ladders and work safely at heights of up to 70 metres.\nAbility to work in confined spaces and manoeuvre safely in restricted areas.\nReasonable adjustments will be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
