This role is a permanent position focused on ensuring exceptional project delivery across different sectors.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPlan, manage and supervise ground investigation works on sites of varying size and complexity.\nPrepare project-specific health and safety documentation, including risk assessments and method statements.\nUndertake site works independently, including logging, sampling, monitoring and subcontractor supervision.\nCarry out groundwater and ground gas monitoring using appropriate monitoring equipment.\nProduce clear, accurate and well-presented site records, exploratory hole logs, testing schedules, drawings and monitoring data.\nManage project data and maintain accurate project records.\nPrepare factual reports and Phase 1 Geo-Environmental Desk Studies and contribute to Phase 2 Geo-Environmental Interpretative Reports.\nAssist with the preparation of remediation method statements and verification-related documentation, where required.\nJob Requirements:\nA degree, or equivalent relevant qualification/experience, in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental Engineering or another relevant earth science, environmental or engineering discipline.\nExperience in geo-environmental consultancy, ground investigation, contaminated land, geotechnical or environmental assessment work.\nExperience supervising ground investigation works.\nExperience preparing factual reports and/or contributing to interpretative geo-environmental reports.\nA working understanding of health and safety requirements for site investigation works.\nGood written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage project information accurately.\nA full UK driving licence.\nTechnical Skills:\nGround investigation supervision.\nSoil and groundwater sampling.\nGround gas and groundwater monitoring.\nProduction of exploratory hole logs and site records.\nUse of logging software, such as HoleBASE or equivalent.\nPreparation of factual reports and Phase 1 Geo-Environmental Desk Studies.\nPreparation or contribution to Phase 2 Geo-Environmental Interpretative Reports.\nBasic drawing production and spatial data handling, ideally using QGIS.\nManagement of laboratory testing schedules and project data.\nHealth and safety documentation for site investigation works.\nFamiliarity with commonly used UK contaminated land and ground investigation guidance.\nBenefits:\nCompetitive salary\nEnhanced parental leave after the qualifying period\nAccess to The Omniverse rewards platform offering retailer discounts and cashback opportunities\nOptional leisure and wellbeing subscriptions, including gym memberships, streaming services, and beauty subscriptions\nGenerous holiday allowance increasing with length of service, additional birthday holiday and discretionary Christmas shutdown days\nMental health, financial and wellbeing support, including in-house mental health champions\nTailored training plans and clear progression opportunities\nIf you are an experienced Geo-Environmental Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to further develop your career, we would love to hear from you.
