This permanent role offers the opportunity to contribute to a major future-facing programme, supporting system safety proving plans and complex test activities across a range of engineering disciplines.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupporting the development and implementation of long-term system safety proving plans and ground trials\nCarrying out technical, engineering and scientific activities, including the analysis and interpretation of technical information\nContributing to Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives trials and testing activities\nSupporting testing across areas such as Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), mechanical and climatic performance, engine testing and chemical analysis\nApplying engineering knowledge to identify solutions, improve processes and support innovative test approaches\nWorking collaboratively with internal teams, specialist engineers and UK, French and Italian national authorities\nCommunicating technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences\nTaking responsibility for the quality, value and timely delivery of work undertaken\nJob Requirements:\nExperience in engineering, trials or testing within a technical, scientific or defence-related environment\nKnowledge of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental testing or Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)\nPractical experience using test equipment, processes and procedures\nUnderstanding of Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives trials and testing, including mechanical, climatic, EMC, insensitive munitions or chemical analysis activities\nKnowledge of military safety regulations, policies and standards, particularly those relating to Safety and Suitability for Service\nUnderstanding of safety assessment processes and risk management approaches\nAbility to work autonomously and effectively as part of a wider specialist team\nStrong problem-solving, communication and technical reporting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying improvements\nAdditional Information:\nThe role involves hybrid working, with three to five days per week on site due to the nature of the workload\nApplicants must be British citizens or dual UK nationals with British citizenship\nSuccessful applicants will be required to complete HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks after offer stage\nNationality and right-to-work restrictions may apply\nBenefits:\nCompany performance-related bonus scheme\nEmployer pension contribution package\nOpportunities for paid overtime\nFlexible leave options, including additional flexi leave\nFlexible working arrangements\nEnhanced parental, paternity, neonatal and fertility-related leave provisions\nOn-site facilities including subsidised meals and free car parking\nHealthcare Cash Plan covering areas such as optical, dental, health and wellbeing services\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with practical trials or testing experience to develop expertise across multiple technical disciplines while contributing to a significant defence and security programme.
