The role will focus primarily on supporting a portfolio of networking projects, requiring a blend of networking expertise, scripting capability, systems knowledge, and communications experience.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupporting technical design and continual service improvement activities across operational systems\nWorking hands-on at system level while considering wider architecture, interfaces and dependencies\nSupporting networking projects and identifying opportunities to improve system performance and resilience\nUsing scripting and troubleshooting skills to investigate technical issues and develop effective solutions\nAnalysing system and interface behaviour across complex or legacy operational environments\nWorking with IP networking, serial communications and associated technical infrastructure\nContributing to technically sound solutions within a safety-critical environment\nCollaborating with designers, architects and engineers across the wider technical team\nIdentify improvement opportunities, understand system and interface behaviour and help develop technically sound solutions.\nWhat we are looking for:\nStrong understanding of IP networking principles.\nStrong scripting skills, including PowerShell or comparable scripting languages\nUnderstanding of complex or legacy operational systems and their interfaces\nExperience with OpenVMS or other VMS environments would be particularly valuable\nAbility to understand system architecture, dependencies and integration points\nExperience with communications systems, including serial communications\nDesirable skills:\nExperience working in safety-critical, defence, security, air traffic management or similarly regulated environments would be advantageous\nInterested?
