Based full-time onsite in Cowes, you'll provide technical leadership across the software lifecycle, working within a large, established engineering environment.\nKey details\n Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight (full-time onsite)\nContract length: 6 months initially\nIR35: Inside IR35\nRate: £54.57/hour PAYE or £73.68 Umbrella\nClearance/constraints: BPSS + full SC required to start, UK Eyes Only, subject to ITAR\nWhat you'll be doing\nDesigning and developing software sub-system solutions for naval radar products\nProviding technical expertise across requirements, design, implementation, test and verification\nDeriving and maintaining software requirements from system requirements/baselines\nProducing and maintaining software designs using high-level methodologies (UML essential)\nLeading/participating in peer reviews, technical reviews, verification and approval of designs\nSupporting the replacement of obsolete hardware/software to maintain and enhance radar capability\nActing as a technical lead at sub-system level across multiple projects and products\nMaintaining software to address defects and implement new functionality\nSupporting estimates and contributing to team development/mentoring\nWhat we're looking for\nStrong experience across the full software development lifecycle\nConsiderable experience in at least one high-level programming language (Ada95 desirable)\n UML (essential) and structured design methodology experience\nUnderstanding of software lifecycle models (e.g., Waterfall and Agile)\nKnowledge of relevant standards (e.g., ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207)\nSolid understanding of configuration management and use of CM tools\nStrong communication skills with the ability to influence, guide and mentor others\nDegree in Computer Science / Engineering (or similar numerate discipline);
