Lead Product Support Engineer | Defence & Maritime Technology | South Coast
Our client, a leading organisation within the Defence & Maritime Technology sector, is seeking a Lead Product Support Engineer to join their Production Engineering team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to lead a growing Product Support team, providing technical leadership and support for complex electronic and mechanical products throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the Product Support Engineering team.
- Mentor, train and develop Product Support Engineers, supporting both technical and professional growth.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex product and assembly-related issues.
- Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting across manufacturing and assembly operations.
- Coordinate activities between Design, Quality, Production, Supply Chain and Suppliers.
- Support supplier discussions relating to components, sub-assemblies and manufacturability.
- Represent the department at technical and operational review meetings.
- Drive continuous improvement, productivity and efficiency initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Support production teams in achieving output, quality and delivery targets.
- Participate in strategic projects and business improvement activities as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading engineering or technical teams within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of product support, manufacturing, assembly, and engineering processes.
- Knowledge of sensors, electrical systems, fabrication, or electromechanical products.
- Experience resolving complex technical and production-related issues.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Understanding of quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience working with suppliers and supporting manufacturing operations.
- Degree-qualified in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Ability to obtain SC Security Clearance.
