Reporting to senior management, the Project Manager will act as the key link between operational teams, site personnel, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.\nThe role requires strong project coordination, planning, commercial awareness, and leadership skills, with responsibility for managing project performance from pre-construction through to completion. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction while supporting the continued growth of the business.\nThe projects are focused on UV lining / sewerage projects on behalf of 2 main Water frameworks, Thames and Southern Water.\nResponsibilities\nAct as the primary liaison between management, operational teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.\nCoordinate all project activities to ensure effective communication and seamless delivery across multiple stakeholders.\nDevelop, monitor, and maintain project programmes, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved.\nSupport the planning, execution, and close-out of projects in accordance with contractual requirements and company standards.\nIdentify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions where required.\nLead pre-construction planning activities, including programme development, logistics planning, and resource allocation.\nForecast labour, plant, equipment, and material requirements to support project delivery.\nManage inventory and procurement activities to ensure resources are available when required while minimising waste and cost.\nWork closely with operational teams to optimise resource utilisation across projects.\nTake responsibility for project cost tracking, monitoring expenditure against budgets, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.\nPrepare and maintain project financial reports, forecasts, and revenue projections.\nAssist with monthly valuations, cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management.\nMonitor project performance against financial targets and support the resolution of commercial issues.\nEnsure accurate project documentation is maintained to support financial and contractual obligations.\nAttend construction planning meetings, client meetings, and regular site inspections to review project progress and performance.\nBuild and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.\nProvide regular project updates and reports to senior management and clients.\nSupport contract administration and ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.\nPromote a strong safety culture across all projects and ensure compliance with company health, safety, environmental, and quality policies.\nSupport site teams in maintaining safe working practices and achieving project safety objectives.\nParticipate in quality inspections and audits to ensure works are delivered to the required standards.\nAssist in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project quality and performance.\nEnsure all works comply with relevant legislation, industry regulations, and company procedures.\nProvide guidance and support to engineering, site, and project teams.\nFoster collaborative working relationships and encourage a proactive problem-solving culture.\nSupport the development and mentoring of junior team members where appropriate.\nSkills/experience/qualifications\nIdeally 2 years' experience working as an Engineer in an Assistant Project Manager (APM) role or similar project delivery position.\nDegree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.\nStrong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.\nExcellent organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Project.\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel between project locations.\nExperience in drainage, utilities, civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction projects.\nKnowledge of NEC contracts and commercial project management principles.\nUnderstanding of CDM Regulations and construction health and safety
