Client is recruiting for a Senior CAD Technician (Mechanical or Electrical) in the Water Sector\nLocation - Multiple Locations in North and South of England with hybrid working\nReporting directly to the Regional Discipline Lead, you will lead the coordination and delivery of electrical CAD and BIM outputs across a portfolio of projects.\nYou will be instrumental in driving digital delivery excellence, managing drawing production, supporting offshore design resources and helping to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in accordance with company, industry and client standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the production, coordination and quality assurance of electrical design drawings and models.\nManage and prioritise CAD workloads to ensure project programmes and delivery milestones are achieved.\nAct as a Digital Delivery Champion, promoting best practices in CAD, BIM and digital engineering.\nCoordinate drawing production undertaken by offshore and remote design teams.\nEnsure all designs comply with CDM Regulations, project standards and company procedures.\nCoordinate design information across Electrical, ICA, Mechanical, Civil and Process disciplines.\nSupport the identification and resolution of technical queries, design clashes and coordination issues.\nProduce and review electrical design models, layouts, schematics and detailed design drawings.\nMaintain drawing standards, quality assurance processes and document control requirements.\nWork closely with construction teams and supply chain partners to improve buildability and project efficiency.\nSupport BIM implementation and digital project delivery across engineering teams.\nEncourage a positive health and safety culture throughout the design process.\nMentor and support junior CAD technicians and designers where required.\nAbout The Candidate:\nYou'll be a highly capable Mechanical or Electrical CAD Technician with strong technical skills, a collaborative approach and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.\nEssential\nSignificant experience working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.\nStrong Mechanical or Electrical CAD background within infrastructure, utilities, industrial or water sectors.\nAdvanced 2D drafting skills with extensive experience using industry-standard software.\nStrong 3D modelling experience and understanding of model-based design principles.\nProven experience using Autodesk Revit and other associated 3D design applications.\nExperience with Bentley ProjectWise or equivalent document management systems.\nUnderstanding of electrical engineering drawings, including layouts, cable routes, schematics, MCCs, power distribution and control systems.\nBroad experience using engineering software and digital delivery tools.\nGood understanding of BIM processes, 3D modelling standards and QA procedures.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality outputs.\nExcellent communication and coordination skills.\nSelf-motivated with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.\nDesirable\nExperience working within the UK water and wastewater industry.\nKnowledge of Mechanical or EICA (Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation) systems.\nFamiliarity with BIM Level 2 standards and digital delivery methodologies.\nExperience coordinating offshore or remote design teams.\nPrevious mentoring or supervisory responsibilities.\nUnderstanding of construction practices, installation requirements and buildability considerations.\nExperience working on large-scale infrastructure or utility
