This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior technical role within a government organisation responsible for managing and developing the Island's highway and drainage infrastructure.\nYou'll act as the lead technical specialist for highway drainage and surface water management, overseeing the delivery of drainage schemes, flood mitigation projects, SuDS designs, development control assessments and mentoring junior engineers. The role offers genuine influence over key infrastructure projects that directly impact communities across the Island.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDeliver and support the drainage design programme for highway and infrastructure schemes\nAct as a senior technical specialist in highway drainage and surface water management\nUndertake and review drainage designs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practice\nSupport development control activities, including the assessment of drainage proposals associated with planning applications\nProvide technical advice and represent the Department at meetings with internal and external stakeholders\nSupport the development of junior staff through mentoring and knowledge sharing\nJob Requirements:\nExperience in drainage design and surface water management\nStrong understanding of relevant standards and best practices in highway drainage\nProficiency in reviewing and producing technically robust drainage designs\nAbility to assess drainage proposals related to planning applications\nExcellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement\nExperience in mentoring and knowledge sharing with junior staff\nRelevant
