This is an opportunity for a technically capable professional with a strong geology background to manage projects, support business development and contribute to the growth of a successful consultancy team.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, coordinate and oversee ground investigation and geo-environmental projects from tender stage through to completion\nManage project delivery, budgets, timescales, contracts and commercial performance\nPrepare and review desk studies, factual reports, interpretative assessments and other technical documentation\nProvide technical input into tenders, quotations and pre-qualification questionnaires\nDevelop and maintain effective relationships with clients and identify new business opportunities\nSupport the delivery of high standards in health and safety, environmental protection and quality assurance\nMentor and support engineers, junior staff and site-based teams\nContribute to the continual improvement of business processes and professional services\nJob Requirements:\nSignificant experience in ground investigation, geo-environmental consultancy or a related discipline\nDegree qualification in Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject\nStrong understanding of geology, contaminated land and ground conditions\nExperience producing technical and interpretative geo-environmental reports\nProven project management and client liaison abilities\nCommercial awareness, strong organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities\nExcellent communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills\nChartered status with the Geological Society, or a commitment to working towards Chartership\nBenefits:\n24 days' annual leave, increasing to 29 days with length of service, plus eight UK bank holidays\nSix per cent contributory pension following successful completion of the probation period\nHybrid working, with up to two days working from home\nCompany mobile phone and laptop\nHoliday Buy-Back Scheme\nTwo paid volunteer days to support a registered charity of choice\nClear progression from Senior to Principal Engineer, with further development opportunities\nProfessional development and support towards Chartership\nThe role is based in Greater Manchester and follows working hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
