are currently working with a London Local Authority seeking a Traffic Design Engineer to support the delivery of traffic management and highway improvement schemes across the borough.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with experience in traffic engineering, parking, highways or local authority scheme delivery who is looking to develop their technical and project delivery skills within a busy Traffic Engineering team.\nKey Responsibilities\nUndertake site surveys, collect traffic and condition data, and carry out site investigations to support scheme design.\nAssist with the design and preparation of drawings for traffic management and highway improvement schemes.\nPrepare cost estimates and supporting documentation for traffic management projects.\nInspect contractor works on site, ensuring quality standards and specifications are achieved.\nLiaise with contractors, utility companies and other stakeholders during scheme delivery.\nAssist with the preparation and review of Traffic Management Orders.\nIssue work orders, site instructions and associated project documentation.\nRespond to public enquiries and assist with correspondence to residents, elected Members and stakeholders.\nUtilise relevant computer software and engineering systems to support project delivery.\nPrepare reports, technical documentation and project updates as required.\nRequirements\nExperience within traffic engineering, highways, parking or transportation.\nKnowledge of traffic management schemes and highway improvement projects.\nExperience using AutoCAD or similar design software.\nAbility to interpret technical information and prepare clear drawings and documentation.\nStrong communication skills and experience dealing with the public and stakeholders.\nGood organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\nLocal authority experience would be advantageous but is not
