We can offer great flexibility within your employment, being open to either Permanent Part/ Full Time and Casual - Choice the employment that suits you and your lifestyle!!! Our CSSD team operates between 6:30am and 11:00pm, with successful applicants working a variety of shifts across these hours at our Pimlico campus.\nIn this role you will provide an efficient and effective preparation and sterilisation service by utilising a high standard of skills and procedures by industry and hospital guidelines.\nThe Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville provides surgical services across 16 theatres and caters for adults and pediatrics with a variety of surgical specialties. MPHT boasts brand new state of the art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day site surgery facilities as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.\nSalary range: $35.05 - $39.04 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!\nWhat you’ll be doing\nApply appropriate cleaning methods, disinfecting agents and procedures on surgical instrumentation.\nProcess equipment for transfer to an external sterilising unit where necessary.\nMaintain a sound knowledge of surgical instruments and packaging techniques.\nConduct all sterilisation procedures following accepted sterilisation methods and principles.\nProcess endoscopic equipment for multi-use purposes.\nStore sterilised items appropriately to maintain sterility and maximise access and efficiency.\nPerform functions within the scope of practice according to accepted clinical principles, standards, and regulations.\nAbout you\nTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following criteria:\nA demonstrated understanding of infection control principles.\nBasic computer skills\nA background working in a clinical / health care background\nPractical interpersonal and communication skills\nDesirable:\nExposure to Sterilisation Services in a healthcare environment\nCertificate III in Sterilisation Services, or the ability to provide evidence of working towards attainment within the first six months.\nPrevious experience in a CSSD role with the ability to work in all areas with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.\nWhy join us?\nMater is Queensland’s largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, delivering exceptional care to nearly 700,000 patients each year across 11 (soon to be 12) hospitals.
