The role ensures timely, accurate and compliant processing of purchase requests, supports inventory and financial processes, and provides responsive customer service to internal stakeholders. The position contributes to maintaining efficient procurement operations and achieving service delivery outcomes.\nSalary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!\nWhat you’ll be doing\nProcess purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner in line with operational requirements.\nSupport the delivery of purchasing services to clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply.\nMaintain accurate records of purchasing transactions and ensure supporting documentation is complete.\nAssist with resolving routine purchasing, supplier or system-related queries.\nMonitor and follow up outstanding orders, including backorders, to support service delivery.\nSupport cost-effective purchasing practices by using approved suppliers, contracts and pricing arrangements.\nAssist with goods receipting, invoice matching and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy.\nEnsure purchasing activities comply with delegated authority limits and financial procedures.\nIdentify and escalate discrepancies or issues impacting financial accuracy.\nComply with Mater procurement policies, procedures and relevant standards.\nEnsure purchasing documentation and transactions meet audit and compliance requirements.\nIdentify and report risks, including non-compliance or process issues.\nMaintain awareness of workplace health and safety obligations relevant to procurement activities.\nWork collaboratively within the purchasing team to achieve service and operational outcomes.\nDevelop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.\nProvide responsive and professional communication to stakeholders regarding purchasing matters.\nSupport knowledge sharing and consistent practices within the team environment.\nTake accountability for the accuracy, timeliness and quality of purchasing activities.\nRespond to enquiries and resolve routine issues within established procedures and guidelines.\nContribute to continuous improvement activities to enhance procurement processes and service delivery.\nMaintain proficiency in procurement systems (e.g. D365 or equivalent) and follow established procedures.\nSeek guidance when required and escalate more complex matters appropriately.\nAbout you\nQualifications\nEssential - N/A\nDesirable - Level 1 Procurement Certification\nSkills, knowledge and experience\nSound understanding of purchasing or procurement processes within a structured environment.\nExperience using procurement or ERP systems (e.g. D365 or similar).\nAbility to accurately process transactional work with attention to detail.\nGood organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.\nEffective communication skills with ability to liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers.\nAbility to work collaboratively within a team environment.\nProblem-solving capability to address routine purchasing queries.\nWhy join us?\nMater is Queensland’s largest not-for-profit network of public and private hospitals and healthcare services, bringing together world-class expertise across healthcare, education, fundraising & philanthropy and research.
