This is a permanent, full-time position based at our South Brisbane campus.\nThis role will see you carry out repairs and maintenance tasks to Mater facilities as directed by the Electrical & HVAC Manager or relevant delegate in order to maintain the Mater facilities in a safe and well-presented condition ensuring all work is performed in a timely, cost-effective manner to prescribed quality standards and to meet customer needs.\nSalary range: $39.90 - $46.00 per hourplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!\nWhat you’ll be doing\nEnsure effective communication with the Manager and Trade co-ordinator on a regular basis throughout the day on issues regarding daily work plan and work activities\nParticipate in the planning and development of maintenance and renovation programs for the facilities\nAdvise on preferred maintenance practises as required utilising trade and technical knowledge\nParticipate in the process of providing quotations for work as required\nParticipate in the process of ordering and maintaining stock levels as required\nProvide quality technical skills and knowledge to ensure all work is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner\nParticipate in the training and development of apprentices by providing technical guidance and supervision\nInteract and coordinate effectively with workshop team members and other trade disciplines to ensure positive job outcomes on multi trade tasks\nEnsure all work is carried out in a manner providing the safety of patients, visitors and staff whilst ensuring all access and services are maintained where practical\nRecord accurate data on all work orders processed via the relevant electronic management systems\nUtilise building management software to manage and troubleshoot HVAC related infrastructure\nPromptly acknowledge responses to concerns and requests made by stakeholders\nWork together with other maintenance personnel and management in coordinating and collaborating with the team\nProvide 24hour maintenance service by participating in on-call roster\nComply with all authorised duties as directed by the Manager or his delegate\nTo observe all safe working practices as directed by the supervisor and use of personal protective equipment as provided\nReport all accidents, incidents, near misses and hazardous situations arising in the course of work\nComply with the requirements of workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practices and behaviour in the work environment\nAbout you\nYou will have a Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and meet the below criteria.\nRestricted Electrical Licence\nCurrent CPR/LVR certificate\nARC Refrigerant Handling Licence\nConstruction industry safety induction (white) card\nAn understanding of Occupational, Health, Safety and Welfare Legislation and Regulations pertaining to Refrigeration and Air-conditioning\nDemonstrated experience in Refrigeration and Air-conditioning maintenance\nHold a current “C” Class Motor Driver’s Licence\nWhy join us?\nMater is Queensland’s largest not-for-profit network of public and private hospitals and healthcare services, bringing together world-class expertise across healthcare, education, fundraising & philanthropy and research.
