Join us!\nPosition Summary:\nThe Forge Assistant supports daily forging operations by preparing materials, assisting forge operators, maintaining equipment readiness, and ensuring a safe and efficient workflow. This role plays a key part in producing high-quality metal components that meet Materion’s performance and safety standards.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssist forge operators with setup, operation, and shutdown of forging equipment.\nPrepare raw materials and ensure proper loading and positioning for forging processes.\nInspect materials for defects or irregularities prior to forging.\nMonitor forge area conditions, including temperature, equipment function, and safety compliance.\nPerform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance of forge tools and machinery.\nTransport materials using forklifts or other approved equipment (training provided if needed).\nRecord production data accurately and communicate any issues or abnormalities to supervisors.\nSupport continuous improvement, quality, and safety initiatives within the forge department.\nFollow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and operational procedures.\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nPrior experience in manufacturing, metalworking, or industrial operations preferred but not required.\nAbility to work in high-heat environments and lift up to 35 pounds.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to safety.\nWillingness to learn forge equipment operation and follow standardized processes.\nReliable, team-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.\nAdditional Requirements:\nAbility to stand for extended periods.\nFlexibility to work various shifts or overtime depending on production needs.\nMust pass required background checks and/or pre-employment screenings.\nPay Range:\n$21.61-$26.70\nActual base salary offered varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.\nThe selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).\nThe candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
