This role dedicates the majority of its time to managing engineering staff, developing team capabilities, establishing priorities, removing barriers to execution, and creating an environment that enables engineers to perform at their highest level.\nThe Project Engineering Manager directs departmental activities to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget while continuously improving project delivery processes and work practices. This role works closely with Project Engineers, Operations, Maintenance, and Plant Leadership to resolve challenges, facilitate decision-making, and remove roadblocks that could impact project schedules, costs, or outcomes.\nIn addition to providing leadership and strategic direction for the Project Engineering team, the Project Engineering Manager directly manages select large and complex capital projects, including projects with budgets that may exceed $5 million. The role collaborates closely with the Portfolio Manager to ensure capital investments align with organizational priorities, strategic objectives, and long-term business needs.\n\nYou will have the opportunity to:\n\nManagement Systems:\nComply with and support all EH&S and quality programs, training requirements, and company policies while operating in a safe, honest, and ethical manner.\nPromote a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and effective project execution within the engineering organization.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain engineering standards, project execution processes, and best practices.\nEnsure project engineering activities comply with corporate, regulatory, and site requirements.\nEngineering Team Leadership:\nManage Project Engineering staff and coordinate departmental activities to support organizational priorities and business objectives.\nRecruit, develop, coach, train, mentor, and evaluate engineering personnel.\nIncrease the technical and professional competence of engineering staff through development planning, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning opportunities.\nEstablish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and guidance.\nSupport Project Engineers by removing organizational, technical, and resource-related barriers that impede project execution.\nFacilitate communication and decision-making among stakeholders to mitigate project delays, budget concerns, and execution risks.\nBalance engineering resources across multiple projects and business priorities.\nFoster collaboration between Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and other functional teams to improve project outcomes and operational performance.\nProject Management:\nDirectly manage large and complex capital projects from concept development through commissioning and project closeout.\nLead projects with significant scope, cross-functional involvement, and capital expenditures that may exceed $5 million.\nDevelop project scopes, business cases, budget estimates, schedules, risk mitigation plans, and project approval documentation.\nCoordinate contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.\nMaintain regular communication with site leadership regarding project status, costs, milestones, risks, and resource requirements.\nEnsure projects achieve safety, quality, operational, and financial objectives.\nStrategy & Continuous Improvement:\nDirect department activities to ensure successful execution of capital projects on schedule and within approved budgets.\nImprove capital project execution through the creation, implementation, and continuous refinement of engineering processes, standards, templates, and work practices.\nMonitor project portfolio performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve execution effectiveness, resource utilization, and project delivery.\nWork closely with the Portfolio Manager to ensure projects are aligned with organizational strategy, capital planning objectives, and business priorities.\nProvide guidance and oversight to Project Engineers throughout project development, execution, commissioning, and closeout activities.\nLead escalation efforts when project risks, scope changes, or resource constraints threaten successful project completion.\nEssential Qualifications & Capabilities:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Industrial, or related discipline).\nMinimum of 12-15 years of engineering, manufacturing, operations support, or capital project experience.\nPrevious experience leading, supervising, or managing technical personnel.\nDemonstrated success managing large capital projects and cross-functional initiatives.\nStrong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team development skills.\nExcellent project management, prioritization, and organizational abilities.\nStrong communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.\nFinancial acumen with experience managing capital budgets and project portfolios.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nExperience implementing continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.\nUp to 15% travel may be required based on business need.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProject Management Professional (PMP) Certification.\nSAP for procurement and maintenance activities.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) Licensure in the State of Ohio.\nLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification.\nHP\n#LI-HS1\nThe selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the
