The Data Analytics Developer will use Python, SQL, and related tools to work with large health care datasets, optimize data processing, ensure data quality, and collaborate with researchers to answer health care policy questions.\n\nResponsibilities\nWorking with large secondary data sources such as Medicare and Medicaid administrative claims data and survey data to effectively answer research questions about health care policy\nProviding creating and best practice solutions for data processing optimization, commonly on cloud computing platforms\nEnsuring data quality through all stages of data processing with rigorous quality control\nIteratively informing requirements and specifications, which will include articulating findings and working with researchers to adjust specifications and code as interim results are found\n\nSkills\nA bachelor's degree with a strong academic record in computer science, economics, mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, public health, public administration, public policy, sociology, political science, or a related field\n1-5 years of programming experience in a professional or academic environment\nProgramming experience using Python, SQL, SAS, R or Stata, or a similar data engineering or statistical language\nExperience performing data pipelining or analytics using cloud computing platforms and services, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and/or Databricks\nStrong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work with others\nExcellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience\nSubject-matter knowledge in healthcare data\nHas the ability to pass a background investigation or security clearance for federally contracted project work\nExperience performing data pipelining or analytics using cloud computing platforms and services, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and/or Databricks is strongly preferred\nSubject-matter knowledge in healthcare data preferred\nHolding an active Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Enterprise User Administration (EUA) ID is desired\n\nBenefits\n100 percent employee owned through ESOP holdings, providing employees with financial benefits that have increased in tandem with the company’s growth and financial strength.\nThis position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.\nRemote eligible.\nCoworking spaces where available for employees who are not located near one of the company’s offices.\n\nCompany Overview\nMathematica provides research and technical assistance support services and products for evidence and program management for their partners.
