This role is hands-on and site-focused, providing critical support in layout, coordination, documentation, and quality control throughout the construction process.\nKey Responsibilities\nSite Operations & Field Support\nSupport daily site operations in coordination with the Project Superintendent.\nAssist with concrete take-offs, ordering, placement, and coordination of materials.\nSupport building layout activities, including basic surveying principles, equipment use, and interpretation of construction requirements.\nCommunicate field information clearly between site teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.\nConstruction Documentation & Interpretation\nInterpret contract drawings, specifications, details, sections, and floor plans.\nEnsure understanding of construction documentation as it relates to field execution.\nAssist in resolving on-site discrepancies by referencing contract documents and coordinating with the project team.\nScheduling & Progress Monitoring\nAssist in understanding and tracking construction schedules.\nMonitor site progress against schedule milestones.\nReport on daily and weekly site activities to support project tracking and reporting requirements.\nQuality Control & Construction Methods\nAssist the Superintendent with field activities as required.\nSupport quality control and quality assurance processes on site.\nDocument site progress through reports, photos, and field records.\nHelp ensure construction work aligns with project specifications and standards.\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\nSupport the enforcement of Health & Safety policies and procedures on site.\nPromote a safe working environment with a strong commitment to hazard awareness and prevention.\nParticipate in site safety activities and help maintain a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe work practices.\nQualifications\nEducation & Experience\nPost-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.\nPrevious construction or field experience is considered an asset.\nExposure to construction site operations and coordination is beneficial.\nTechnical Skills\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.\nBasic understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and site operations.\nProficiency with basic computer and technical tools used for reporting and communication.\nFamiliarity with surveying equipment and layout principles is an asset.\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong communication skills (verbal, written, and technical).\nStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, site-based environment.\nStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships.\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\nRequirements\nValid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nMatheson Constructors is an equal opportunity employer.\nWe thank all applicants for their interest in this position; however, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.\nAccessibility\nMatheson Constructors welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
