Train, motivate and lead the department to meet all daily production and safety goals, while taking direction from shift supervisor. Take on accountability for all department operations, actions and results.\nPrinciple Responsibilities\nAssist with start-up meeting and report attendance issues to supervisor. \nMove people to other areas as business and attendance dictate. \nAssign what is to be picked by each /area. \nMonitor orders being picked on an hourly basis. \nEnforces company policies such as PPE requirements. \nPick Hot orders that need to ship on the same day. \nEnsure pickers check 5 pcs per order \nOversees training of new employees. \nMonitors every area for housekeeping/WPO \nCommunicates any safety, productivity, or quality issues with supervisor. \nMonitors weekly workload with supervisor to determine any overtime needs. \nPage maintenance for any mechanical trouble with wrappers or bar coders \nEnvironmental Responsibilities\nSupport the EMT and environmental projects within department. \nActively supporting and promoting the Environmental Policy in their department. \nUnderstand operations and applicable environmental requirements . \nKnowledgeable about the proper procedures for handling all chemicals and waste within their department. \nResponsible for ensuring that all environmental procedures are complied with in their department. \nCompetencies \nQuality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality. \nQuantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly. \nSafety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly. \nAdaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. \nAttendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time. \nDependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
