At Matic, we’re bringing advanced robotics into everyday life, and design plays a central role in making that experience feel natural. We’re looking for a Product Design Intern with curiosity, a strong eye for craft, and a drive to turn ideas into something people can experience. You’ll work closely with design and engineering to explore new possibilities and make the product more intuitive, thoughtful, and delightful to use. Your time will be a mix of exploring concepts, building prototypes, sharing ideas, and refining interactions. You’ll use Figma and AI tools to bring concepts to life, test how they feel, and help the team decide what to build. With room to experiment, you’ll contribute to meaningful product work while developing your own design judgment.\nWhat You Will Do\nExplore and design experiences that connect people, software, and the physical world.\n\nTranslate complex problems into clear flows, thoughtful interactions, and polished interfaces.\n\nBuild interactive prototypes with Figma and AI tools to evaluate concepts and communicate design intent.\n\nPresent your thinking, explore different directions, and refine your work through experimentation and team critique.\n\nCollaborate with engineers to understand possibilities, work through constraints, and bring ideas into the product.\n\nFollow designs through implementation, paying attention to the details that shape how an experience feels.\n\nContribute to a consistent visual and interaction language across Matic’s product experience.\n\nWhat You Bring\nCuriosity about technology and a habit of asking how an experience could be better.\n\nStrong foundations in interaction and visual design, including layout, typography, hierarchy, and composition.\n\nA portfolio that shows thoughtful problem-solving, design craft, and your approach to developing ideas. School, personal, and internship projects are welcome.\n\nComfort working in Figma and enthusiasm for exploring AI tools in your design process.\n\nThe ability to communicate your ideas clearly and explain the decisions behind your work.\n\nOpenness to feedback and a willingness to experiment, iterate, and learn.\n\nCare for the small details and an interest in how they contribute to the whole experience.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience building functional prototypes with AI tools or code.\n\nFamiliarity with motion design or spatial interactions.\n\nAn understanding of mobile design patterns, accessibility, or design systems.\n\nInterest in consumer technology, robotics, and products that connect digital and physical experiences.\n\nPortfolio (Required)\nShow us how you think and what you make.
