Personal electronics or robotics projects, maker experience, amateur radio, or other strong hands-on electronics experience will be considered a significant advantage.\n\nWhat you will do\n\nSelect and integrate single-board computers, microcontrollers, displays, audio modules, sensors, and other electronic components.\n\nWork with Raspberry Pi and similar hardware platforms.\n\nDesign electrical schematics and custom PCBs, including carrier boards, interface boards, and power circuits.\n\nCreate PCB layouts using KiCad or comparable EDA tools.\n\nDevelop reliable power distribution and connectivity, including voltage levels, current budgets, protection, and thermal behaviour.\n\nAssemble, solder, bring up, test, and debug hardware prototypes.\n\nTroubleshoot hardware using a multimeter, oscilloscope, bench power supply, and logic analyser.\n\nWork with GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, USB, and other hardware interfaces.\n\nPrepare BOMs, fabrication and assembly files, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.\n\nCoordinate PCB manufacturing and assembly.\n\nPerform hardware bring-up, debugging, and systematic fault-finding.\n\nCollaborate with mechanical and software engineers to resolve integration issues.\n\nImprove hardware reliability, cost efficiency, maintainability, and serviceability.\n\nWhat we are looking for\n\nProven hands-on experience building, assembling, and troubleshooting electronic devices.\n\nPersonal or commercial hardware projects that you can explain and demonstrate.\n\nStrong understanding of analogue and digital circuit fundamentals.\n\nExperience selecting electronic components and working confidently with datasheets.\n\nExperience creating schematics and PCB layouts.\n\nUnderstanding of footprints, grounding, decoupling, and electrical/design-rule checks.\n\nPractical experience with Raspberry Pi or similar platforms.\n\nExperience working with microcontrollers and hardware interfaces such as GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, and USB.\n\nConfident soldering skills and basic SMD rework experience.\n\nStrong troubleshooting and systematic fault-finding skills.\n\nAbility to write simple test code or scripts to validate hardware functionality.\n\nFormal commercial experience is not the only thing we value.
