This role is ideal for a highly conceptual, visually sophisticated designer who can lead projects while remaining actively involved in the work.\nThe Associate Design Director will help translate creative strategy into compelling visual systems and oversee design across brand identities, campaigns, digital experiences, content, and experiential projects. They will partner closely with creative leadership, designers, strategists, producers, and account teams to ensure the work is conceptually strong, beautifully executed, and consistent across every touchpoint.\nThis is a remote position for candidates based in Mexico. The individual must be available to collaborate during working hours aligned with MATTE’s New York and Mexico City teams.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the visual development and execution of integrated creative projects from concept through delivery.\nDevelop brand identities, design systems, campaign toolkits, presentations, digital experiences, and experiential applications.\nTranslate creative concepts and strategic insights into clear, compelling visual directions.\nRemain hands-on throughout the design process while providing direction, feedback, and mentorship to other designers.\nOversee multiple projects and workstreams while maintaining a consistently high standard of craft.\nCreate and present design concepts to internal teams, senior leadership, and clients.\nCollaborate with creative directors, art directors, copywriters, strategists, producers, developers, and external partners.\nEnsure visual consistency across digital, social, content, environmental, and physical brand touchpoints.\nHelp strengthen the CDMX design team’s processes, capabilities, and creative culture.\nStay current on developments in design, technology, culture, AI, and emerging creative tools.\nQualifications\nApproximately 7+ years of experience in design, branding, advertising, or a related creative field.\nA strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft, conceptual thinking, and experience building cohesive design systems.\nExperience leading design across multiple channels, including brand, campaign, digital, social, content, and experiential work.\nAdvanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.\nStrong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate creative decisions.\nExperience directing and mentoring designers while remaining hands-on in the work.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced agency environment.\nProfessional fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.\nExperience working with international teams or global brands is a plus.\nCompensation: $10,000-11,000 USD per month\nContract Structure\nThis is a remote, full-time contract position for an individual based in Mexico. The contractor is expected to maintain full-time availability and work as an embedded member of MATTE’s creative team for the duration of the engagement.
