This role ensures that cloud usage and license quantities align with contractual commitments and vendor agreements, helping the organization avoid non-compliance, overages, and unnecessary cloud spend.T he candidate should have a deep understanding of cloud technology, license metrics, consumption models, and vendor relationships, and will support the full license lifecycle including planning, acquisition, monitoring, optimization, and renewal.The candidate must be willing to work on site 4 days a week in Hyderabad, during US EST time zone.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCloud License Lifecycle Management:\nTrack and manage licenses and subscriptions for cloud services across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and SaaS applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Salesforce, ServiceNow).\nMaintain an accurate inventory of entitlements, usage quantities, license types, and renewal timelines.\nEnsure alignment between license allocations and actual cloud service deployments.\nUsage Tracking & Analysis:\nMonitor real-time and historical usage of cloud resources such as compute instances, storage, databases, and SaaS seats.\nAnalyze utilization trends to detect over-provisioning, under-utilization, and license misalignments.\nGenerate reports and dashboards to support visibility into cloud spend, license quantities, and forecasting.\n Vendor Management & Contract Alignment:\nSupport VMO and procurement teams in reviewing cloud service contracts, ensuring licensing terms and usage metrics are accurately interpreted and tracked.\nCollaborate with cloud vendors and internal stakeholders to manage license negotiations, true-ups, and renewals.\nValidate that cloud usage is compliant with vendor contracts, especially in BYOL (Bring Your Own License), CSP, or Enterprise Agreement (EA) scenarios.\nCloud Cost Optimization:\nIdentify cost-saving opportunities through license consolidation, reserved instance strategies, license portability, or tier optimization.\nPartner with Cloud FinOps or finance teams to align license tracking with cloud budget forecasts and committed spend.\nPropose recommendations for scaling licenses up or down based on business needs and system usage.\nTool Integration & Automation:\nUtilize tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Billing Console, and license management platforms (e.g., Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow ITAM) to track and reconcile usage data.\nHelp develop integrations between cloud platforms, ITAM/SAM tools, and contract management systems to automate license tracking and reporting.\nEnsure consistent tagging, categorization, and asset mapping across cloud environments for accurate reporting.\nGovernance, Audit & Compliance Support:\nEstablish controls and processes for cloud license compliance, audit readiness, and lifecycle documentation.\nSupport internal and external audits by providing accurate license data and evidence of compliance.\nContribute to governance frameworks and licensing policies for cloud technology usage across the organization.\nQualifications:\nEducation & Experience:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Cloud Computing, or related field.\n3-6 years of experience in cloud operations, software asset management, or license compliance in an enterprise setting.\nExperience managing cloud service provider (CSP) contracts and SaaS vendor licensing (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Google, Salesforce).\nSkills & Knowledge:\n\nIn-depth understanding of cloud licensing and pricing models:Reserved vs. on-demand instances\nBYOL (Bring Your Own License)\nSubscription-based vs. consumption-based pricing\nSaaS seat licensing and metering\n\nKnowledge of key cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, and major SaaS services.\nStrong analytical and reporting skills with experience in license usage analysis and cost optimization.\nFamiliarity with software asset management (SAM) and ITAM principles and tools.\nExcellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders across IT, procurement, finance, and vendor relations.\nTools & Technologies:\n\nCloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing Console)\nLicense/SAM platforms (e.g., Flexera, Snow Software, ServiceNow ITAM)\nReporting tools: Excel, Power BI, Tableau\nERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa)\nCloud Fluency: Deep familiarity with cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and licensing implications.\nAttention to Detail: High level of accuracy when tracking
