This role ensures accurate alerting, efficient system performance, and ongoing platform reliability.\nKey Responsibilities\nInstall, configure, and maintain Nagios Core, Nagios XI monitoring solutions\n\nUpgrade Nagios and related plugins for system and network monitoring.\n\nGood hands on experience in Linix/ Unix servers.\n\nDevelop and refine monitoring scripts and templates for consistent coverage.\n\nMonitor and troubleshoot: Linux, Windows and applications\n\nConfigure and manage: Hosts, services, host groups, and service groups, Active and passive checks, Alerts, escalations, and notifications\n\nIntegrate Nagios XI with: SNMP, NRPE, NCPA, NSClient++, Ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.), Email, SMS, and collaboration tools\n\nPerform root cause analysis (RCA) and provide incident reports\n\nOptimize monitoring performance and reduce alert noise (alert fatigue)\n\nBuild dashboards, reports, and capacity planning metrics\n\nCollaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams\n\nCreate and maintain monitoring documentation and SOPs\n\nSupport audits, compliance requirements, and best operational practices\n\nAnalyze performance metrics to identify trends and optimization opportunities.\n\nCreating dashboards and reports.\n\nMaintain SOX-compliant documentation for monitoring configurations and changes.\n\nCollaborate with DC Ops, NOC, and infrastructure teams to resolve system issues.\n\nDocument monitoring standards and ensure consistent best practices.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.\n\n5 - 8 years of experience managing Nagios XI in enterprise environments.\n\nStrong Linux and scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, Perl).\n\nExperience with SNMP, network protocols, and performance metrics.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\n\nExperience with agent-based and agentless monitoring\n\nFamiliarity with performance monitoring and capacity management\n\nKnowledge of log analysis and alert correlation\n\nTools & Technologies (Nice to Have)\nOther monitoring tools: SCOM, SolarWinds, Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics\nCloud monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP)\nITSM tools (ServiceNow)\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nDemonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.\n Don’t meet every single requirement?
