SDE 3 / 4 - Backend

We are looking for a Senior/Staff Software Engineer (SDE-3/4) to scale our endpoint platform to 100K+ enterprise endpoints. Our endpoint agent is already deployed for at-rest sensitive data discovery and classification across enterprise devices. The next phase is about making the platform massively scalable, highly reliable, and lightweight, while expanding it into DLP, AI governance, real-time data monitoring, and enforcement. This is a high-ownership role where you will own critical parts of the endpoint architecture and solve hard systems problems across macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Responsibilities:

• Scale our endpoint architecture to reliably support 100K+ devices per enterprise environment.
• Design efficient agent-to-cloud communication, telemetry ingestion, batching, backpressure, and control-plane architecture.
• Optimize CPU, memory, disk, network, and battery usage across large endpoint fleets.
• Improve reliability across upgrades, restarts, network failures, offline devices, and heterogeneous enterprise environments.
• Build large-scale rollout, versioning, configuration, health monitoring, and rollback mechanisms.
• Scale at-rest discovery and classification across millions of files without impacting end-user performance.
• Build the foundation for endpoint DLP, real-time data movement monitoring, and policy enforcement.
• Extend the agent toward AI governance, including visibility into sensitive data accessed or shared with AI applications and agents.
• Build OS-level capabilities using native Windows, macOS, and Linux frameworks where required.
• Own architecture decisions, performance benchmarks, reliability targets, and engineering standards for the endpoint platform.
• Mentor engineers and work directly with founders, product, security research, and platform teams.

Requirements:

• 6-10 years of strong software engineering experience.
• Experience building or scaling endpoint agents, EDR/XDR, DLP, observability agents, or device-management platforms.
• Deep understanding of operating systems, processes, filesystems, networking, concurrency, and systems programming.
• Strong experience with C++, Rust, C, Go, or similar systems languages.
• Experience designing distributed systems operating across tens or hundreds of thousands of nodes/devices.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization, telemetry pipelines, fault tolerance, and production debugging.
• Experience with Windows, macOS, or Linux internals.
• Ability to independently take ambiguous platform problems from architecture through production.
