Our FAA certified quality systems, manage design data control for hardware and software, hardware and software quality conformance, document control, supplier management, manufacturing process control, repair station quality control, nonconforming article control - containment, root cause, corrective, and preventive action, supplier and internal quality assessment/audits. Covering new product development through full scale deployment\nIn this role, your work will be responsible for:\nThe M3 Product Quality lead role starting from product development through its full scale deployment\nSupplier quality - new supplier qualification, first article approval, incoming quality inspection management\nManufacturing quality - Dfx, PFMEA, in-process through finished goods inspection \nNonconformance process management using an 8D/DMAIC methodology from problem definition to preventive action\nIn-process through customer acceptance quality inspections and performance tracking\nQuality Systems Compliance and Improvements\nInternal quality systems auditing and continuous improvement\nPeriodic supplier quality performance assessments\nManaging transfers of production lines to contract manufacturing partners\nQuality and Reliability criteria, metrics, FAA/CAA requirements for new products from concept through final approvals to start customer shipments \nPartnering with safety, engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory to close quality & conformance gaps supporting airworthiness.\nRequirements\n4+ years in either aerospace, avionics, automotive, robotics or similar complex hardware with embedded software as a quality engineer\nExperience as quality lead for a certified FAA, AS9100, or ISO9001 quality management system\nExperience managing nonconformances and MRB using an 8D/DMAIC methodology with tracking & reporting\nExperience in quality engineering for new product development from concept through NPI lifecycle phases including working with Dfx, process flow mapping for quality optimization, PFMEA, Human factors analysis, Safety assessment, fault tree analysis, mechanical tolerance issue investigations, electrical test criteria issue investigation, failure condition classification methods, likely failure test methods for hardware or software, software quality assurance methods \nTransitioning product from development to contract manufacturing partners for volume production\nStatistical data analysis e.g, process behavior charts, conditional failure probability, defect or failure rate analysis; Design of Experiments e.g, comparison tests for differences; utilizing database analysis & reporting tools e.g., Tableau\nBS in Engineering or a related field\nExperience using work related apps: JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides or MS equivalents, Arena PLM configuration & change management or equivalent\nPreferred Qualifications:\nUAS/UAV or aviation experience\nSupplier quality management experience\nFamiliarity with DO-178C Level D software assurance objectives\nExperience in a FAA Production or Repair Station Certified environment\nFamiliarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS)\nWork Environment:\nThis is an in-person role based at Matternet Headquarters with access to our flight test facility\nBenefits\nAt Matternet, we’re advancing a new era of logistics, one where autonomous drones deliver what matters faster, cleaner, and more efficiently. This range reflects the target starting pay for candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for the role.
