You’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern society and enhancing lives - as we continue to apply, refine and recycle metals that matter, for a healthier and more resilient future.\nPlease note that this is a 1-year renewable contract position and candidates must currently be based in Malaysia with valid work rights as work visa sponsorship will not be provided.\nThe role:\nAs a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will help drive our goals by:\nDesign, implement, and manage virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Azure Local), covering cluster configuration, VM lifecycle, host management, and storage integration.\n\nMaintain and support Windows and/or Linux systems, including patching, tuning, configuration, and executing upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning for compute platforms.\n\nOversee data centre operations and enterprise infrastructure, including physical servers, racks, environmental checks, SAN/NAS storage, and backup/DR systems to ensure availability and business continuity.\n\nMonitor and troubleshoot performance and availability issues across virtual and physical environments, ensuring compliance with security baselines and operational standards.\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally with network, security, and application teams, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in on-call rotations for critical incident response.\n\nKey skills that will help you succeed in this role :\nAble to commit to a one-year contract (renewable)\n\nComfortable to work in an APAC & EMEA shift model\n\n5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience with deep expertise in virtualization and platform administration across VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, including clustered deployments and VM lifecycle management.\n\nStrong proficiency in Windows Server platforms (2016/2019/2022,2025), with additional experience in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) for cross-platform support.\n\nSkilled in scripting and automation, preferably using PowerShell, to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.\n\nSolid understanding of enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS) and virtualization networking concepts (VLANs, vSwitches, distributed switches).\n\nExperienced in infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting, using tools like vROps, SolarWinds, with strong analytical skills for managing production environments.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nVMware VCP certification or Microsoft Certified\n\nFamiliarity with Azure Local (HCI), VMware Solution, or hybrid cloud infrastructures.\n\nExperience in backup and replication tools like Veeam.\n\nExposure to infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).\n\nExperience supporting enterprise patching, WSUS/SCCM, Azure Update Manager or vulnerability management tools.\n\nReady to make a meaningful impact on your career and the environment?
