The role:
As a Warehouse Team Lead, you will help drive our goals by:
- Leading day-to-day warehouse shift activities, providing clear direction, regular communication and support to Warehouse Technicians
- Role modelling Johnson Matthey’s values while promoting a strong safety culture aligned to EHS standards and Life Saving Policies
- Coordinating shipping, receiving, material storage and timely delivery of materials to support production requirements
- Supporting team development through coaching, performance feedback and contribution to annual performance reviews in partnership with the Warehouse Supervisor
- Ensuring effective onboarding, training and documentation for new team members
- Leading problem-solving activities, escalating operational or safety issues where required and supporting continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- 2-3 years of warehouse or material control experience, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of EHS, OSHA and hazardous material handling and shipping requirements
- Confidence using Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-based, high-volume operation
