It also requires the fitting and installing parts into complex mechanical equipment. This position requires the skill to troubleshoot and maintain plastics injection molding equipment and all ancillary equipment used in the manufacturing process. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems is necessary.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nFollow, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipment\nExamine machine controls to install plate changeovers and start-up machines for production needs when required\nPerform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery\nRepair basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches\nObserve and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of the problem\nDismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts\nAdjust functional parts of devices and control instruments\nInspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements\nLubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plant\nDocument and track changeover times and record\nAccomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency\nFollows all safety rules and procedures including the Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping, and 5S standards and observes the operations to ensure a safe work environment\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nQualifications:\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation and/or Experiences\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)\n3-5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience\nTooling and repair experience highly preferred\nExperience with injection molding machines is highly preferred\nAbility to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.\nAbility to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges\nBasic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
