Specific accountabilities include evaluating manufacturing processes to improve product quality, process efficiencies and machine reliability; failure analyses; developing mechanical systems and modifying existing systems; leading project activities in the areas of mechanical design and equipment integration. Press and tooling experience, which should include cut, shear, form, extrude, coil and sheet feeder system, coil payoff systems and basic press control packages.\n\nResponsibilities:\nMonitor, project conception, project planning and improve machine process, develop work instructions, and train employees\nDefine, measure, analyze, implement, verify and control the corrected actions deployed.\nParticipate in implementing safety improvements\nDesign, program, analyze and repair mechanical drives and control units including reducer assemblies and conveying systems.\nProvide technical expertise in troubleshooting mechanical systems, conveyors, press, feed systems and payoff systems.\nProvide technical expertise in troubleshooting robotic automation and motion control systems.\nEvaluate, innovate and deploy new components or processes to improve the longevity of machines and tooling.\nDevelop data acquisitions systems integrated and interfaced across multiple control platforms of the shop floor.\nParticipating in projects that support in reducing downtime and scrap\nOrganize, plan and commission new or modified production lines\nEvaluate control system logic and industrial machinery to optimize equipment performance and control\nInvestigate operational problems affecting production in a systematic and methodical manner\nWork with the Maintenance teams to improve the skill level of the Maintenance and Maintainers.\nWorks with maintenance department to ensure preventative and predictive maintenance compliance\nPM development related to equipment and tooling services.\nPrograms software to configure and/or make modifications to automated systems and process control systems, which will include maintaining a backup library of robotic, tooling and other mechanical systems.\nEvaluate, identify spare part components, procure, coordinate and receive.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s Degree, in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) field and 5 - 7 years of experience working in a high-volume manufacturing facility. Applicants without a degree that have at least 10 years of related experience will also be considered. \nWorking knowledge of high-volume, high-speed manufacturing and assembly.\nRead and understand pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and electronic documentation and drawings and interpret equipment data\nPerform mechanical design for equipment, tooling, conveyance, automation fixtures, & diagnostics on various systems, troubleshoot mechanical equipment such as: Press, Tools, Conveyors, Robots, Fixtures, Seamers, Expanders, Welders and guarding.\nStrong understanding of machine control system operation. \nExperience with Robotics\nExcellent computer and data analysis skills. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
