In this role, you will focus on growing our Data Center Connectivity BU (DCC) business:\nProvide leadership to a global team of Platform and Applications Engineers providing design-in technical support to global customers for DCC BUs products\nHelp team prioritize tasks, interface with customers and internal teams, manage budget, and annual resource plans\nManage team of hardware and software engineers to create reference designs using MxL products for customer evaluation and adoption; reference designs may include Transceiver modules, opto-electronic engines, and active cables used in high-speed datacenters\nManage Applications Engineering team that interfaces between customers and internal teams to overcome customer design-in challenges by reproducing, debugging, and solving technical issues emerging from the integration of MxL products in customer platforms\nSupport internal development of FW augmentation, API driver, and diagnostic tools\nWork with regional Sales and FAEs to secure design wins and strengthen relationships with key customers and strategic partners; understand customer use cases and requirements and help craft product requirements for internal development teams\nGather customer and market information including use case studies, new product roadmap, and competitive intelligence studies, and analysis to support marketing\nCollaborate with internal teams and customers to define validation plans for high-speed Ethernet/InfiniBand optical transceivers, active optical cables (AOCs), and active electronic cables (AECs) tested by the automated test equipment (ATE)\nBuild and manage test and validation labs geared towards customer enablement\nQualifications\nPrevious management experience building and managing large engineering teams is a must\nBroad knowledge of analog circuit and system hardware integration, firmware and software in application layer issues; experience in RF/SI simulation tool (ADS or HFSS)\nExtensive knowledge of optical transceiver products at system and application levels including optical modules and components, and optical communications systems\nStrong software and hardware design and debugging skills are desirable. Driver integration and ATE development experience for platform characterization/debugging is a plus\nExperience in 400G/800G/1.6T transceiver design using DML, EML, Sipho driver/TIA/CDR/DSP/PAM4; including circuit design, HW/SW debug and application support is preferred.\nExperience in high-speed digital and RF/microwave PCB design\nFamiliar with a range of laboratory instruments, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, digital communication analyzers (DCAs), optical/electrical clock recovery (CDRs), logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, protocol analyzers and bit error rate (BER) testers\nPrevious experience in high speed Serdes or Analog IC development or in optical transceiver module development is a must\nStrong leadership is required to oversee the work of application and platform engineers specializing in high-speed networking hardware, software and validation systems\nStrong ownership to productively drive customer technical issues to closure, interfacing between the customer and internal engineering\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with customers and various internal groups such as marketing, engineering, sales, and operations\nPrevious experience of supporting IC products in a high-volume market\nAbility to process multiple tasks, strong technical account management, and project management skills\nAbility to work well under pressure and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment\nAble to deal with both technical and business challenges\nStrong communicator with experience presenting to senior management\nCustomer support experience is desirable\nBS in Electrical Engineering or related + 15 years of experience, or MS + 13 years of experience, or Ph.D. + 10 years of experience \nCompensation and Benefits\nMaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.\nMaxLinear's good faith estimate starting base salary range is: $238,000 to $294,000 Annually\nWe offer competitive benefits designed to support employee health, welfare, and retirement and some highlights are: health care benefits, 401k savings plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and paid time off.\nThe actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.\nQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to, and will not be discriminated against based on race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.\nCompany Overview\nMaxLinear is a global, NASDAQ-traded company (MXL) where the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well.
