In this role, you will focus on the following:\nMicro-architecture definition for high-speed signal processing, digital datapath, control, and interface functions that are protocol or standard compliant\nRTL implementation in SystemVerilog/Verilog of digital functions\nBlock-level verification including testbench creation, test plan definition, test case creation/debug, RTL and gate-level simulation, and code coverage analysis\nPerform block-level preliminary synthesis and power estimation, including SDC constraint specification and vector-driven power analysis\nPerform block-level design checks including lint, CDC and DFT-readiness checks\nPost silicon bring-up support and silicon debug in lab\nAutomation of design tasks using Python, Perl, or shell scripts, as well as AI\nCollaborate with systems, communications systems, RFIC, and software teams\nQualifications\nStrong fundamentals in digital design including fixed-point arithmetic, digital datapath design, FSMs, and area/power/timing optimization\nExperience with industry ASIC front-end design flow including RTL coding, debugging, verification, synthesis and supporting timing closure\nExperience with SoC integration, including clock/reset architecture, bus protocols, serial interfaces\nKnowledge of communications/DSP algorithms and efficient ASIC implementations a plus\nStrong logical and creative problem-solving skills with excellent analytical and debugging skills \nSelf-motivated with ability to work effectively under pressure and to excel in team environment\nFlexibility to ramp quickly on new technologies, products, and methodologies \nSolid written and verbal communication skills\nBS in Electrical Engineering or related + 5 years of experience, or MS + 3 years of experience, or Ph.D.\nCompensation and Benefits\nMaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.\nMaxLinear's good faith estimate starting base salary range is: $110,000 to $165,000 Annually\nWe offer competitive benefits designed to support employee health, welfare, and retirement and some highlights are: health care benefits, 401k savings plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and paid time off.\nThe actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.\nQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to, and will not be discriminated against based on race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.\nCompany Overview\nMaxLinear is a global, NASDAQ-traded company (MXL) where the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well.
