Join us.\nJob Summary\nAs the Engineering Manager for Prediction within the Behavior team, you will drive the strategic direction and execution of our trajectory and intent prediction systems. Leading a team of specialized engineers, you will bridge machine learning and classical robotics architectures to build multi-agent prediction capabilities for our Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) platform. In this role, you will partner cross-functionally across autonomy, infrastructure, and remote operations to ensure robust safety integration, technical excellence, and scalable talent development. \nEssential Responsibilities\nGuide the evolution of intent and prediction architectures, balancing classical robotics with data-driven machine learning approaches.\nPartner cross-functionally with Behavior, Modeling, Perception, and Remote Assistance teams to maintain long-term architectural roadmaps and align deliverables with leadership strategy.\nIntegrate safety metrics, risk assessments, and Operational Design Domain (ODD) requirements into team delivery and testing milestones.\nCollaborate with infrastructure and tooling teams to accelerate iteration cycles.\nIncorporate Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) into the team's backlog and provide engineering escalation support when field issues require deep domain expertise.\nEnforce rigorous code quality standards and design reviews, ensuring complete engineering ownership of deliverables.\nGrow, onboard, mentor, and continuously develop engineering talent through both internal development and external hiring.\nQualifications and Experience\nCandidates most successful in this role typically hold the following qualifications or comparable knowledge or experience:\nRequired\n5+ years experience in management of technical teams or leading technical project teams\nBachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical field (Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, etc)\nStrong leadership skills and ability to lead and manage a team of 5+ people\nAbility to mentor technical team members and grow their technical and inter-personal skills\nExperience working on cross-functionally with other engineering teams, operations, and external partners \nExperience delivering projects with high uncertainty on time\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences\nData driven and able to drive creation and maintenance of metrics/KPIs that measure progress for your team\nAdvanced knowledge of Jira and Jira reporting and dashboards\nProficiency with BI tools (e.g., AWS QuickSight, Tableau) for building operational dashboards and reporting that scale with fleet growth\nDesirable\n7+ years experience in management of technical teams or leading technical project teams\nMasters or other advanced degree in a relevant technical field (Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, etc)\nAbility to critically interpret large-scale fleet data and insights to validate problem framing and drive informed decision-making.\nExperience with autonomous vehicles or other robotic platforms deployed in commercial settings\nExperience with start-ups and scaling an organization\nPhysical Requirements\nStandard office working conditions which includes but is not limited to:\nStandard office working conditions which includes but is not limited to\nProlonged sitting\nProlonged standing\nProlonged computer use\nTravel required?
