Join us.\nJob Summary\nMay Mobility is entering an exciting phase of growth and our team is expanding quickly. You will have an opportunity to independently impact our approach to solving the most interesting problems facing AV’s today, while operating live in the wild. The Site Autonomy Engineer’s primary role will be hands-on support of the operational fleet in respective site location. The engineer will work intimately with the electromechanical and software elements of the system to ensure the success of the launch and safety of the autonomous operation.\nEssential Responsibilities\nCoordinates and implements vehicle upfits to support fleet upgrades and initiatives\nDebugs electrical and mechanical issues on the vehicles \nExecutes on-site sensor calibrations\nExecutes on-site testing of feature improvements\nBuild and maintain local May Mobility mapping assets\nPerforms preventative maintenance on May vehicles \nRecords issues found and resolutions, escalating in proper channels as necessary\nAssists in testing the autonomous operation of the vehicle to ensure it follows May’s standards for safety and rider comfort \nImplements hardware changes in the field, ensuring safe operation for return to service\nCommunicates issues and successes to the engineering team, and drives resolution\nPerform data acquisition by utilizing vehicle sensor suite\nCoordinates and develops the on-site configuration and deployment of autonomous technology in designated locations\nAssist in fleet cleanliness and demo readiness\nOther duties as assigned\nSkills and Abilities\nSuccess in this role typically requires the following competencies:\nImpeccable discretion and integrity when handling confidential or sensitive information\nAbility to understand and relate to the agile startup and engineering mindset\nExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skills\nStrong attention to detail and highly-organized\nAbility to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environment\nPassionate about self-driving cars and their impact on the world\nQualifications and Experience\nCandidates most successful in this role typically hold the following qualifications or comparable knowledge or experience:\nRequired\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or relevant experience\nExperience and comfort in computing environments, especially Linux\nAbility to read and understand mechanical and/or electrical schematics\nSafety-first approach to all work \nKnowledge of wire harnesses and basic mechanical subsystems \nAbility to debug and modify mechanical and electrical systems \nAbility to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems\nSystems-level thinking\nExperience using Git and GitHub or Gitlab, or ability to learn\nValid U.S. Driver's License\nPhysical Requirements\nStandard site working conditions which includes but is not limited to:\nMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time\nMust be able to move and / or change positions often when needed\nProlonged computer use\nFlexibility to work weekends and adjust schedule to align with site operating hours and project needs, including early mornings, evenings, and holidays as required.\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs\nAbility to stand for prolonged periods of time and climb ladders (infrequent)\nAbility to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions\nTravel required? - Minimal: 0-10%\nBenefits and Perks\nComprehensive healthcare suite including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans.
