Quantum computers will be as transformative to the next 30 years as the internet was to the last 30-and our team is creating the hardware foundation to make this revolution possible. \nPosition Overview \nWe're seeking a Buyer to join our Manufacturing Operations team and keep material flowing to the production floor. You will own purchase orders from sourcing, negotiation, and execution through delivery for a portfolio of suppliers and parts that go into our dilution refrigerators and cryogenic systems. \nOur build schedules move quickly and our parts range from precision-machined components to specialized vacuum and cryogenic hardware, success means knowing where every order stands, spotting risks before they become shortages, and bringing recovery options when a supplier slips. \nYou'll work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Quality to make sure the right parts arrive on time, at the right cost, and with accurate data in the ERP. \nKey Responsibilities \nPurchase Order Management \nPlace,manage, and negotiatepurchase orders aligned to build schedules and material requirements. \nRun RFQs for build-to-print and catalog parts: issue drawing packages, level quotes, verify PO pricing against quotes, and recommend awards \nSecure suppliercommit dates, keep them current in the ERP, and flag risks early. \nProcess PO changes, reschedules, and cancellations as build plans shift, and keep pricing, quantities, and lead times accuratein the system. \nResolve invoice, receiving, and pricing discrepancies. \nSupplier Management and Expediting \nOwn supplier onboarding, including NDAs, credit applications, tax and banking forms, and material certification requirements. \nFollow up and expediteto ensure on-time delivery, escalating slips with recovery options. \nMaintain a regularcadence with suppliers on open orders andknow the status of critical parts without having to look it up. \nPartner with Quality on supplier nonconformances and returns, and drive replacements to closure. \nTrack supplier on-time delivery and responsiveness,andmaintainmetrics and scorecards to measure performance \nMaterial Planning and Forecasting \nServe as ERP administrator for purchasingand inventory: maintainitem masters, vendor records, pricing, and reports, and support our adoption of a new through go-live and work order adoption \nSupport material planning and forecasting, including shortage tracking and reorder points. \nMaintain shortage reports and communicate status, impact, and expected recovery to Production and Planning. \nHelp review lead times, minimum order quantities, and stocking levelsso planning parameters reflect reality. \nCross-Functional Support \nWork with Engineering on new parts, engineering changes, and drawing revisions so suppliers are always building to the current revision. \nRequest and compare quotes, and support the Procurement Manager on sourcing, cost reduction, and supplier onboarding. \nHelp improve purchasing processes and documentation as the team and production volume scale. \nQualifications \n1-4 years of experience as a buyer, purchasingagent, or material planner, ideally in a manufacturing or hardware environment. \nHands-on experience placing and managing purchase orders in an ERP/MRP system. \nWorking knowledge of purchasingfundamentals: lead times, minimum order quantities, reorder points, and PO terms. \nStrong follow-through; you close the loop on open orders and don'twait for a shortage to start asking questions. \nClear, direct communication with suppliers and internal teams, including when the news is bad. \nOrganized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage many open orders and shiftingpriorities at once. \nProficiencyin Excel or similar tools for tracking orders, shortages, and supplier performance. \nAbilityto read basic engineering drawings and bills of materials is a strong plus. \nExperience buying machined, sheet metal, vacuum, electrical, or other engineered components is a strong plus. \nBachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a relatedfield, or equivalent experience. \nAPICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) is welcome but not required. \nWhat We Offer \nGrowth Trajectory: This is a rapidly expanding supply chain, with a growing product catalogue and complex supplier network, thereis room to take on more suppliers, commodities, and sourcing responsibility as the company scales. \nImpact: Direct responsibility for keeping production moving on one of the most transformative technologies of our lifetime. \n Exceptional Team: Collaboration with world-class scientists, engineers, and business leaders who are defining a new industry. \n\nAt Maybell Quantum, we're solving incredibly challenging problems at the cutting edge of physics and engineering.
