Our redesigned dilution refrigerator gives labs more fridges per room, more experiments per fridge, and a level of reliability and usability the field has never had. We are a fast-growing, venture-backed team of scientists and engineers, and the cryogenic systems we design in Denver ship to leading quantum computing groups around the world. \nWe are seeking a Cryogenics Engineer to test,validate,troubleshoot, and refineour productsand the subsystems that comprise them. You will work alongside our R&D scientists, mechanical and electrical engineers, and manufacturing teamto elevateour products, drive customer success from installation through long-term operation, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. \nWhat You'll Do \nTest, Validate,&Iterate \n Develop Test Plans:Build comprehensive experimentsthat pushour productsto the limittoensure the highest quality standards-and tofind ways for “the besttoperform even better.” \nOperate and Troubleshoot: Become the equivalent of a “test pilot” for the most advanced cryogenic systems in the world, with a heavy focus onevaluating the user experience and risks touptime. \nDrive Innovation: Work withourproduct and engineering teams to refine our platforms’ designsbased on your tests and discoveries. \n\nSupport our Customer Success Team \nSupport Global Operations: Partnerwith our customers to root-cause and solve issues, allowing them to achievethe next breakthrough in quantum computing. Occasionally travel onsite to assistwhen required. \nBuild our Customer Success Infrastructure: Document test, and inspection proceduresto ensure a common standard across the company and the highest level of customer support. \nSafety & Standards \nEngineer for Safety: Apply pressure-safety, relief-sizing, and oxygen-deficiency hazard practices to systems that handle helium-3/helium-4 mixture, liquid nitrogen, and high vacuum. \nWho You Are \nRequired: \nBachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering, physics, or an equivalenttechnical field. \n3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, or operatingcryogenic systems. \nStrong grounding in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics at cryogenic temperatures, including low-temperature material properties. \nHands-on experience with high-vacuum systems and helium leak detection. \nExperience safely handling cryogens such as liquid nitrogen and liquid helium. \nProficiencyin 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or ANSYS. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills. \nSelf-starter who can drive results independently in a fast-moving environment. \nAble to work on-site in Denver, CO. \nPreferred: \nExperience designing, building, or significantly modifyingdilution refrigerators or other sub-kelvin systems (ADRs, helium-3 systems). \nMaster's degree or PhD in a relevant field. \nExperience with helium-3/helium-4 gas-handling systems. \nExperience with brazing, welding, indium seals, or other cryogenic joining and sealing methods. \nBackground in quantum computing, scientific instrumentation, or superconducting hardware. \nExperience with pressure-system design under ASME or equivalent codes. \nExperience in a high-growth, venture-backed startup. \nWhat We Offer \nBase Salary: $90,000 - $120,000/yr, depending on experience and qualifications, plus equity and performance bonus. \nBenefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k); paid time off and paid holidays \nImpact: Direct influence on the success of a company developing revolutionary technology. \nExceptional Team: Collaboration with world-class scientists, engineers, and business leaders who are defining a new industry.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3733,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Quantum Computing Hardware"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-30T17:55:51Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":35,"reasons":["conf:1","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":120000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/maybellquantum-cryogenics-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/maybellquantum-cryogenics-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T18:52:17Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":1101,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":3899,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
