Successful candidates will have experience in the end-to-end product development cycle from concept ideation and requirements discovery to product launch and production (we’ll help you come up to speed on the quantum side of things).This role provides the opportunity to make a real impact - you will influence technical decisions on our products.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and development of Maybell products from the ground up\nIdeate system and sub-system concepts and perform trade-off analysis to determine the best solutions.\nTranslate high level customer needs into product and technical requirements and use them to drive design decisions.\nCreate complex mechanical designs, drawings and documentation for parts and assemblies following DFX principles to develop the most efficient and high-quality products.\nMaintain ownership over sub-system development and sustaining activities including project and resource planning, gathering of documentation and requirements, and execution of ECOs.\nWork closely with manufacturing and operations to ensure a smooth transition from concept to a fully scalable high-quality products\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering field, or equivalent experience\n10-15 years of working experience in a mechanical design role, preferably with capital equipment and machine design\nExceptional CAD and product documentation skills\nExperience with designing machined components, sheet metal and weldments with an emphasis on DFM\nSelf-starter with ability to drive results independently\nDemonstrated ability to bring complex products from concept to production\nTeam player with strong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to adapt and perform in a fast paced and dynamic organization.\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience in Ansys or equivalent analysis software\nWorking knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standard\nExperience working with product safety standards (NRTL and CE)\nStrong hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures.\nMachine shop and fabrication skills\nA strong understanding of software and electrical systems to inform design decisions and product
