The Data Engineer will partner with application teams, architects, and platform teams to enable consistent API & AI Gateway delivery, governance, and operational excellence.\nThis role is part of the enterprise Information Security Modernization (ISM) program, supporting the evolution of secure, scalable API & AI Gateway platform capabilities. Participation in a rotating on-call support schedule is required.\nKey responsibilities include:\nDesign, develop, and implement enterprise API & AI Gateway platform capabilities using API & AI Gateway management solutions (e.g., Apigee, API Connect, or similar).\nBuild and manage scalable API & AI Gateway proxies and services supporting REST and SOAP-based integrations.\nImplement API & AI Gateway security frameworks including OAuth, JWT, API key management, mTLS, and secure communication protocols.\nDevelop and enforce API & AI Gateway governance standards including versioning, lifecycle management, and API design best practices.\nSupport API & AI Gateway platform deployments across multi-cloud environments (GCP, Azure, on-prem) and hybrid architectures.\nDevelop CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks to enable consistent API & AI Gateway deployments and lifecycle management.\nConfigure and manage API & AI Gateway traffic policies including rate limiting, caching, throttling, and load balancing to optimize performance and reliability.\nMonitor and analyze API & AI Gateway performance using analytics, logging, and observability tools; identify and resolve performance or reliability issues.\nIntegrate APIs with backend systems, microservices, and enterprise platforms to enable seamless data exchange.\nParticipate in migration and modernization efforts including transition from legacy API & AI Gateway platforms to cloud-native or hybrid API & AI Gateway solutions.\nEnsure compliance with enterprise security, regulatory, and data privacy requirements including secure logging and data masking practices.\nCollaborate with developers, architects, and platform teams to translate business and technical requirements into scalable API & AI Gateway solutions.\nProvide operational support including troubleshooting, incident response, and continuous improvement of API & AI Gateway platform capabilities.\nDevelop and maintain platform documentation, runbooks, and onboarding materials for internal users and developers.\nSupport proof-of-concepts and innovation initiatives to evaluate new API & AI Gateway and integration technologies.\nThis vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Demonstrated ability to analyze and profile data as a means to address various business problems through leveraging advanced data modeling, source system databases, or data mining techniques, is required. May provide consultative services to departments/divisions and committees. Demonstrated application of several problem-solving methodologies, planning techniques, continuous improvement methods, and analytical tools and methodologies (e.g. data analysis, data profiling, modeling, etc.) required. Incumbent must have ability to manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities and stay current on healthcare trends and enterprise changes. Interpersonal skills and time management skills are required. Requires strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and recommend solutions, advanced computer application skills and a commitment to customer service.
