This position leads continuous improvement initiatives, provides technical support to production operations, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance, quality, productivity, and cost.\nThe ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and experience in automotive manufacturing environments.\nAs a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also:\nProduction Support Provide daily engineering support to assembly production operations.\nMonitor key production metrics including safety, quality, productivity, and downtime.\nTroubleshoot processes, equipment, and quality issues to minimize production interruptions.\nSupport launch activities, engineering changes, and model-year updates.\nContinuous Improvement Lead and implement Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and cost-reduction initiatives.\nAnalyze production data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.\nDevelop and implement countermeasures for recurring manufacturing issues.\nDrive waste elimination efforts related to labor, material, and equipment utilization.\nDevelop, maintain, and improve standardized work processes.\nEvaluate and optimize assembly line balancing and workstation design.\nCreate and update process documentation, work instructions, and engineering standards.\nSupport ergonomic assessments and workplace improvements.\nCollaborate with maintenance and controls teams to improve equipment reliability.\nSupport installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and tooling.\nParticipate in preventive and predictive maintenance improvement activities.\nEvaluate automation opportunities to improve productivity and quality.\nInvestigate quality concerns and lead root cause analysis activities.\nUtilize structured problem-solving methodologies such as A3, Fishbone, and 5 Why analysis.\nImplement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate defects.\nSupport internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.\nWork closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Logistics, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.\nCoordinate activities with suppliers and external contractors as needed.\nSupport workforce training related to new processes, equipment, and standards.\nWhat You Bring\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work flexible schedules and support production requirements as needed.\nWhat Will Set You Apart\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent time in high volume manufacturing\n2 years of manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or equivalent experience in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment, or equivalent education.\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and problem-solving methodologies.\nKnowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS) principles.\nFamiliarity with PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automation systems.\nExperience with ergonomics and workstation design.\nExperience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software.\nExperience working with vendors and coordinating schedules\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in automated manufacturing environments.\nExperience with equipment startup, conveyor systems, robotics, fastening systems, or assembly tooling.\nWhat We Offer\nAt Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA Inc., we offer the opportunity to end each day with a smile and a sense of pride in the work that you do.
