This role will help expand our capacity to successfully deliver projects for municipal, state, federal, and private-sector clients across the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond.\nMichael Baker International is seeking a Project Manager to support the continued growth of our Alexandria Civil Engineering & Environmental (CEE) practice-which has experienced over 80% growth in the past two years.\nWhat You’ll Do\nManage and deliver civil engineering projects from scoping through design and construction-phase support.\nSupport larger, more complex multidisciplinary projects as the civil discipline task lead or a key civil team member.\nDevelop and manage project scopes, work plans, schedules, budgets, staffing, quality, and invoicing.\nOversee preparation and review of engineering studies, calculations, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.\nCoordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and internal technical teams to deliver high-quality work.\nIdentify and resolve technical, schedule, budget, and resource issues during project delivery.\nMentor junior engineers and designers and support a collaborative team environment.\nSupport client service and business development through proposal support, scope and fee development, interviews, and relationship management.\nWhat You Need to Succeed\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field\n12+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, water resources, project delivery, and client service\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license requiredVirginia PE preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months\nMaryland PE is a plus\n\nExperience managing civil engineering assignments and coordinating multidisciplinary teams\nStrong understanding of scope, schedule, budget, forecasting, invoicing, and quality management\nExperience serving municipal, state, federal, commercial, or institutional clients\nStrong communication, leadership, and relationship-management skills\nAbility to manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality and responsiveness\nTechnical Skills\nExperience with site development, stormwater management, drainage, green infrastructure, and municipal infrastructure\nStrong understanding of civil project delivery from planning through construction support\nExperience reviewing engineering studies, technical memoranda, calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates\nWorking knowledge of hydrology/hydraulics, stormwater design, erosion and sediment control, grading, drainage, and utility coordination\nFamiliarity with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation/OpenRoads (preferred, not required), and standard project delivery tools\nFamiliarity with local, state, and federal permitting and agency coordination\nCompensation\nThe approximate salary range for this position is $131,015 - $226,967.\nThis range represents a good faith estimate at the time of posting.
