As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.\nWhat We're Looking For\nMichael Baker International is seeking a Construction Accountant for our Alexandria, Virginia Office. This is an Onsite position.\nWhat You'll Do\nSpecific responsibilities may include but not be limited to the following:\nDetailed review of multiple vendor invoices/pay applications, compiling and summarizing consolidated invoice packages for reimbursement.\nEnsuring draft invoices from billing are accurate based on the contract agreement requirements with the client/funding partners, identify any corrections needed, finalize invoice package submittals and track payment progress.\nReconciling overall project payables and receivables to project budgets.\nBecoming familiar with all project agreement requirements, pay rates, allowable charges, and tracking any exceptions.\nMaintain quality control standards and procedures for generating accurate and precise project-related financial records using Oracle, spreadsheets, and software.\nSupport the program document control specialist in compliance with regulatory requirements pertaining to the data integrity, documentation, procedures, monitoring systems, and record retention.\nWhat You Need To Succeed\nA bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.\nA minimum of 3 years of experience in private or public accounting.\nExcellent knowledge of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures.\nExceptional interpersonal and communication skills, expressing ideas effectively and professionally.\nWorking knowledge of the construction industry.\nSolid analytical and mathematical skills.\nComputer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe), with an Intermediate Level of experience in Excel a must with CMIC and Oracle Accounting software experience preferred.\nOccasional Travel Required\nCOMPENSATION\nThe approximate compensation range for this position is $95,000 to $140,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
