We use agile methodologies to develop real-time software components that simulate complex weapon systems and sub-systems.\nEmbedded within WSSE, the Integration & Missile Validation (IMV) Team provides best practice and capability to ensure our products are rigorously tested, fit-for-purpose, and ready for delivery. Your work will directly ensure the quality, functionality and performance of our advanced simulation systems.\nThis is a unique opportunity to work in our cutting edge Digital Battlespace Facility. The role is dynamic and fast-paced, and could include working on a variety of rapid mini-projects or critical longer-term main projects. It is a fantastic opportunity to work throughout the product lifecycle, from concept demonstration, product development, systems integration and customer training.\nReporting to the IMV Team Lead, you will be responsible for the end-to-end software testing and proving lifecycle for one or more WSSE products in software simulation/emulation environment. Your responsibilities will span planning, conduct, and reporting:\nTest/Proving PlanningBoth be able to work off formal requirements and to flexibly interpret customer needs to form a vision of how the software should behave.\nUnderstanding design and architecture including defining software test bed requirements.\nDeveloping comprehensive software test plans, designs, and specifications.\n\nTest/Proving ConductRegular progressive software testing assurance during software development cycles.\nLeading technical investigations into software defects and emergent behaviours.\nSupporting external software integration, trials and demonstrations with engineering partners and customers.\nConducting data analysis of logs to identify issues and demonstrate compliance to requirements.\nExecuting formal software qualification testing.\n\nTest/Proving ReportingProviding regular updates to project leads and stakeholders on software functionality.\nWriting detailed software test and analysis reports for certification purposes.\nSupporting the software delivery and release process, including final certification activities.\n\nTechnical KnowledgeGitLab, Jenkins, Python data analysis, IBM PLM/ ALM/ ETM /Doors , JIRA.\nSome knowledge of statistics.\nKnowledge of Agile Scrum.\nUnderstanding software Logs/Data analysis.\nCI/CD software pipeline.\nExcel, basic Macros, PowerPoint, Visio.\n\nWhat we’re looking for from you:\nEssential Skills & Experience\nSystems proving: Experience in E2E software testing at scale/large complex programs\nSDET - Experience as a Software developer in test.\nStrong Python coding experience.\nUnderstanding of Docker.\nExperience in HP, IBM ALM/ETM, Doors, JIRA.\nSoftware testing in Defence Industry (Desirable).\nSimulation/ Emulators experience.\nFamiliarity with SCRUM agile mind-set and methodologies for software development.\nEngineering testing experience (Desirable).\nISTQB: Software testing certifications.\nOur company: Peace is not a given, Freedom is not a given, Sovereignty is not a given\nMBDA is a leading defence organisation.
