We seek candidates with advanced knowledge and expertise in construction project management, railways, and bridge inspections, and who have demonstrated progressive career development.\nResponsibilities\nWhat You'll Do:\nAs a Construction Manager, you will provide: high-quality technical work products to clients, on-site representation, documentation, cost control, and time management. You will lead the project team and coordinate with various project entities to meet deadlines and budgets. Responsibilities include:\nCoordinating and tracking multiple project activities on multiple projects concurrently, and determining staffing requirements for projects to ensure adequate coverage.\nActing as overall liaison between the Owner and General Contractors on specialized, multi-disciplined construction projects, including job site construction inspection.\nPlanning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and managing multi-disciplinary work efforts.\nOverseeing validation of products and materials ordered for projects to verify their conformance to specifications.\nMonitoring and assessing construction performance and recording construction activities to ensure compliance with construction documentation requirements.\nInspecting work in progress, to ensure that methods, materials, and equipment conform to approved standards.\nMaintaining project documentation through review of Construction Inspectors' daily status reports; charting progress of contract schedules via regularly scheduled meetings; reviewing and ensuring utilization of shop drawing submittals; processing and ensuring incorporation of RFIs; reviewing contractor change orders and making recommendations for changes; and incorporating change orders into project record.\nFacilitating regularly scheduled construction meetings. Providing agendas and meeting minutes before and after meetings.\nAssisting in training and providing technical expertise and guidance to Construction Inspectors and other team members.\nReviewing punchlists submitted by others and verifying that items on the punchlist have been completed and corrected prior to recommending substantial completion to the Owner.\nMaintaining a perspective overview regarding federal, state, and local laws regulating construction procedures, safety practices, and working conditions.\nWorking closely with the Area Safety Officer to facilitate the highest level of safety in and around the work site.\nProviding customer service and good etiquette to adjacent property owners and other project stakeholders.\nPerforming various administrative duties to include but not limited to: daily timesheet.\nMaintaining certifications and re-certifications.\nActively participating in company activities, including but not limited to Area and company meetings. \nWho We Are Looking For\nExperience:\n10 or more years of combined education and/or experience in construction project management, rail, and/or bridge inspections. \nExtensive construction experience with railways, including functional leadership of project or task teams for a contractor, owner, developer, or designer.\nEvidence of progressive career development.\nQualifications\nSkills and Abilities:\nGeneral knowledge of MBP's diverse services with demonstrated expertise in one or more service areas or market sectors.\nLeadership and training of team members.\nManagement of project teams.\nDirect client contact and client care.\nClear and professional communication with contractors, owners, and subconsultants regarding work assignments.\nManage multiple assignments simultaneously.\nManage a small project team.\nDefine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nInterpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.\nAnalyze and optimize internal and external processes.\nStand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.\nSafely navigat construction work sites with uneven terrain.\nConduct site visits, identify potential construction issues, and propose solutions and alternatives.\nProvide subject matter technical engineering expertise and support and reviewing technical work of others.\nAdjust workload to changes and working to meet deadlines.\nPrepare clear, concise, and accurate reports and presentations.\nEducation/Knowledge:\nHigh school, some technical school. Associates degree or higher strongly preferred.\nConstruction methods and practices, principles of construction management and project controls.\nWorking knowledge in areas including scheduling, cost estimating, documentation, contract administration, and construction techniques.\nPersonnel and project management techniques including budgeting, leadership, training, and business development.\nPreferred Certifications:\nOSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.\nCertified Construction Manager (CCM) designation or ability to obtain within six months of hire or promotion.\nGuidance/Responsibility:\nAble to work independently and determine solutions with limited guidance; self-performs analytical and management tasks.\nProvide training and leadership to Construction Inspectors and other team members.\nReceive overall guidance on emphasis and approach from Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, Program Managers, and/or Area Managers.\nSupervisory:\nGenerally performs in supervisory role leading project teams and self-performs technical tasks.\nWhat We Offer:\nWe’re focused on providing the tools and support you need to succeed, both personally and professionally.
