As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a suitably motivated - Photonics Systems Engineer - to join our group.\nWhat you'll do\nLead the development of photonic package concepts, package process development, and their related design rules\nPropose innovative solutions to meet photonics networking and PIC-based product or market requirements, working with customers to develop bespoke applications and solutions.\nCoordinate product development and shaping of next generations of high throughput photonic interconnect solutions\nOptimise the integration, form and function of photonic systems amongst their optical, mechanical, and environmental surroundings on the satellite in collaboration with engineering leads from other teams.\nProcurement selection and qualification of photonic components and suppliers\nDirect and/or conduct optical experiments needed to support design efforts\nQuality control and yield analysis to provide feedback for design optimisation\nCoordinate qualification of products for the space environment respecting relevant standards\nTrain design and assembly team members on design principles and practices for packaging\nProject coordination with clients and across multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements and delivery schedules are met\nProject management, planning and progress documentation\nCAD for packaging as required\nWrite proposals, bids, and reports for space agencies and national funding bodies\nWho you are\nPostgraduate degree (or equivalent experience) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Optical Engineering, or a related field.\nBroad-based understanding and commercial experience of photonics principles and optical components; at least a working knowledge of other disciplines such as materials science, mechanical/electrical engineering, software development etc.\nProfessional experience in product or application development, preferably in a technical environment.\nStrong project and/or product management showcasing ability to deliver to market needs.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team; direct leadership experience, preferably in a commercial setting.\nExperience with laboratory equipment and metrology techniques.\nStrong manual dexterity and attention to detail.\nExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, ideally linked to project management experience.\nStrong communication and documentation skills, with experience of producing technical documentation to a professional standard.\nWhat's in it for you\nCareer Growth: Contribute to a world-class space-age communication program while developing your leadership skills in a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment\nCollaboration: Work with talented professionals across disciplines to drive impactful solutions\nInnovation: Be part of a team pioneering advancements in manufacturing engineering for cutting-edge FSO systems\nWork-Life Balance: Enjoy flexible work schedules and a comprehensive benefits package\nIf you're ready to take your career to new heights and drive the future of space-age communication, apply now and join the MBRYONICS team as our Photonics Systems Engineer.\nDiversity, Inclusion and Equal Opportunities\nCore ethical values, diversity and inclusion are invaluable to MBRYONICS’ business success.
