This role leverages SAP Business AI, SAP AI Core, SAP AI Foundation, SAP Build Code, SAP BTP, and modern Generative AI technologies to deliver intelligent business capabilities, workflow automation, conversational experiences, and agentic AI solutions.\nThe position works across SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, and other SAP applications to embed AI capabilities into business processes and business applications.\nThe Senior SAP GenAI Engineer provides technical expertise in agentic AI systems design and development, SAP AI innovation, and the integration of large language models (LLMs) within the SAP ecosystem. The role collaborates closely with Enterprise Architecture, Responsible AI, Product Teams, and Business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready AI solutions aligned with enterprise standards and SAP Clean Core principles.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, build, deploy, and support Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions leveraging SAP AI Core, AI Foundation, SAP BTP, Joule, and SAP Build Code.\nDevelop AI agents, orchestration workflows, and autonomous business process solutions using modern agent frameworks and SAP BTP services.\nDesign and implement integrations between SAP platforms and internally provisioned enterprise AI services and approved foundation models.\nDevelop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions utilizing SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA Cloud Vector Engine, enterprise knowledge repositories, and structured business data sources.\nBuild reusable AI frameworks, APIs, prompts, agent capabilities, accelerators, and development standards to enable scalable adoption of AI capabilities.\nSupport solution troubleshooting, prompt optimization, performance tuning, monitoring, and continuous improvement activities for AI-enabled applications.\nResearch emerging SAP AI and Agentic AI capabilities and contribute to innovation initiatives, proof-of-concepts, and pilot programs.\nSecondary Responsibilities\nCollaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Responsible AI teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.\nParticipate in technical design reviews and architecture discussions.\nContribute reusable frameworks, libraries, accelerators, and development standards.\nSupport proof-of-concepts and innovation initiatives.\nProvide technical guidance and knowledge sharing across SAP development and integration teams.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, development standards, and operational runbooks.\nCollaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Responsible AI, Cybersecurity, and Product teams to ensure adherence to established enterprise standards.\nPerform other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.\nRequired Qualifications\nLevel of Education and Discipline\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related technical discipline.\nCertification and/or Licenses\nSAP BTP Certification\nSAP Certified Associate - SAP Generative AI Developer\nExperience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen \n6-8 years of experience in SAP ERP products and enterprise application development.\n2+ years of hands-on experience developing Generative AI, LLM-based, Agentic AI, or AI-assisted business solutions.\nExperience building applications and services on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).\nExperience integrating SAP applications with enterprise AI platforms and approved foundation models.\nExperience developing production-grade APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.\nExperience delivering solutions using Agile product delivery methodologies.\nUnderstanding of SAP ERP business processes and enterprise application landscapes.\nInterpersonal Skills - leadership, interactions, communication, influence\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to communicate technical concepts to both business and technical stakeholders.\nEffective collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.\nAbility to work independently while contributing to team objectives.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nOther Skills and HPO Competencies\nRequired Technical Skills\nExperience implementing MCP architectures within SAP BTP environments.\nStrong understanding of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).\nExperience with SAP AI Core and SAP AI Foundation.\nExperience developing APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions.\nExperience with SAP Integration Suite and integration patterns.\nStrong proficiency in Python development.\nHands-on experience with LangChain and LangGraph\nExperience designing and implementing Agentic AI solutions and multi-agent systems.\nExperience building and deploying MCP (Model Context Protocol) agents and services.\nExperience with prompt engineering, LLM evaluations, testing frameworks, and guardrails.\nExperience developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.\nFamiliarity with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and cloud-native development practices.\nUnderstanding of application security, data privacy, and Responsible AI principles.\nMcCormick & Company is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
