The ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator with experience in media relations, executive communications, thought leadership, and speaking engagement management. This individual should possess a solid understanding of the evolving media landscape, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead the execution of proactive media relations strategies that advance the company’s brand, reputation, and business objectives.\nDevelop and edit press releases, media pitches, fact sheets, messaging documents, Q&A materials, and other external communications content.\nManage incoming media inquiries and coordinate timely, well-aligned responses with internal stakeholders and external communications leadership.\nBuild and maintain relationships with key journalists, industry influencers, and media outlets.\nMonitor media coverage, identify emerging trends and potential risks, and provide recommendations to communications leadership.\nManage media preparation activities, including development of briefing materials and coordination of spokesperson coaching.\nDevelop compelling executive communications materials, including talking points, keynote remarks, and social media content.\nIdentify opportunities to elevate executive visibility and thought leadership across industry, business, and trade media.\nEnsure executive messaging aligns with corporate priorities, company values, business strategy, and approved communications objectives.\nPartner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to develop impactful, audience-relevant narratives.\nManage the end-to-end process for executive speaking opportunities, including evaluating requests, developing content, coordinating logistics, and supporting event preparation.\nDevelop and refine presentations, speeches, panel discussion talking points, and audience-specific messaging.\nPartner with event organizers, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to maximize external visibility opportunities.\nTrack and measure engagement outcomes and provide recommendations for future opportunities.\nPartner closely with Investor Relations, Marketing, HR, brands, and internal/function communications teams to ensure consistent messaging across audiences.\nAlign corporate narrative with brand storytelling to reflect a cohesive company story.\nManage agency partners and external vendors as needed, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with approved objectives.\nMaintain and improve communications calendars, project plans, and reporting mechanisms.\nTrack communications metrics and provide insights on performance and impact.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, strategic communications, or business\n4-5 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.\nExceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor content for different audiences and channels.\nExperience supporting media relations programs and working with journalists.\nExperience developing executive communications and thought leadership content.\nStrong understanding of the global media landscape, including traditional, digital, social, and emerging media.\nExcellent project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to independently manage multiple priorities, complex projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nSound judgment, strong attention to detail, and a consistent commitment to quality.\nStrategic thinking and sound judgment\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills\nMedia savvy and news awareness\nRelationship building and influence\nExecutive presence and professionalism\nCollaboration and teamwork\nAgility and adaptability\nStrong attention to detail\nResults orientation\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in a global corporate environment or public relations agency.\nExperience supporting C-suite or senior executive communications.\nFamiliarity with media monitoring and analytics platforms.\nExperience managing speaking engagements, conferences, and industry events.\nExperience managing agency partners, external vendors, or defined communications workstreams.\nAs a general policy, McCormick does not offer employment visa sponsorships upon hire or in the future.\nBase Salary: 80,500 - 137,000\nBase salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer.
