The Project Engineer will have responsibility for multiple projects simultaneously.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvides engineering leadership to the cross functional project team which may include McCormick salaried and hourly personnel, contractors, vendor reps.\nDuring the project development phase:\nDevelops detailed charter and objectives in an environment where scope and deliverables may be ambiguous and needs to be brought into focus.\nWrites technical specifications and standards to meet project deliverables.\nDevelops cost justifications, scope, schedule, and budget estimates.\nWrites, submits and presents capital request documentation.\nDrives development of project success criteria for vertical start up and alignment with sponsor and stakeholders\nDuring the project execution phase:\nResponsible for scope, cost, and schedule management\nResponsible for project success through training planning and execution.\nEvaluates vendor proposals, makes equipment selections, negotiates contracts, enters requisitions, reviews and approves invoices.\nMakes Best Value Option Analysis to compare solutions and cost for best value and provide recommendations to leadership.\nReviews, marks up, and approves drawings and other technical documentation.\nDevelops FAT planning and executes successful FAT.Provides field installation supervision, leads commissioning, and field troubleshooting during startup phase.\nIdentifies and resolves technical problems.\nCommunicates project status throughout the organization.\nCoordinates and supervises contractors and vendor reps and construction management.\nCompletes closeout and capitalization documentation.\nDevelops and executes IQ, OQ, PQ with project team during installation, commissioning, qualification, and verification project phases.\nEnsures that all technical deliverables, cost, and schedule requirements are met throughout the execution of the project.\nDrives adherence to standards, develops/contributes to company technical specifications and standards.\nAdds value by influencing through innovation and continuous improvement.\nWorks on various TPM pillar teams (AM, PM, PQ, EEM, etc.) to provide technical support and leadership.\nIdentifies, develops, and implements process improvement projects to increase productivity, reliability, sustainability, and cost reduction.\nSupports a High Performance Organization (HPO) environment by utilizing a total team approach to capital project execution and process improvements.\nProvides technical support through escalation process to operations and maintenance as needed.\nRequired Qualification\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering\nMinimum 3 years of project engineering experience in the manufacturing industry.\nExperience managing multiple projects from the evaluation through implementation stages.\n Experience in developing justification, scoping, and managing capital projects to budgets and schedule.\nContractor management experience, including scoping the work, managing a bidding process, negotiations, field installation supervision, and change order management.\nExperience with leading small and large project teams.\nAbility to follow up and prioritize project issues independently and juggle multiple projects with minimal supervision.\nDemonstrated ability to identify, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems.\nDemonstrated leadership, planning, organizing and strong written and verbal communication skills.\nProficient in Excel, Power Point, MS Project, Word, AutoCAD.\n Ability to work weekends, varying shifts, holidays as project execution schedules may require.\nTravel will be approximately 10% but may be higher during specific project phases.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBS or MS Degree focused in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.\nProject Management Professional (PMP) Certification\nProject engineering experience in the food processing, pharmaceutical, facilities, and/or chemical processing industry. Knowledge of cGMP systems.\nExperience with dry and liquid processing, facilities, and packaging equipment.\nKnowledge and experience with plant operations, CAD systems and shop floor integration.\nExperience with SAP or a similar ERP system.\nLean Six Sigma knowledge.\nA strong understanding of sanitary design concepts.\n Experience with maintenance programs and processes.\n Experience with TPM. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
